GP's Japan, Mexico, Brazilië en Australië op losse schroeven, Quatar mogelijke vervanger

Alternatieve locaties staan in de rij voor mogelijk lege plekken op de 2021 Formule 1-kalender. De race in Singapore is het laatste slachtoffer van de aanhoudende coronacrisis, maar Auto Motor und Sport-correspondent Michael Schmidt beweert dat Turkije de waarschijnlijke vervanger zal zijn.

Verdere annuleringen zijn ook later in het seizoen niet uitgesloten, waarbij de Grands Prix in Japan, Mexico, Brazilië en Australië er allemaal bijzonder bedreigd uitzien.

F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali is echter vastbesloten om het aantal races op het record van 23 te houden. "Plannen is nog moeilijker dan vorig jaar", legde de Italiaan uit. "Reis- en quarantaineregels veranderen voortdurend."

De kansen om de Japanse GP te organiseren zullen sterk toenemen als de Olympische Spelen volgende maand worden gehouden, maar uit een peiling blijkt dat slechts de helft van de bevolking gelooft dat het wereldwijde evenement in Tokio door zal gaan.

Tweede race op Indianapolis

Schmidt meldt dat, in het geval van annulering, Maleisië en mogelijk China de potentiële kandidaten om de Japanse Grand Prix op Suzuka te vervangen. Hij voegde eraan toe: "Vanwege het strikte beleid in Australië en de P1-virusvariant in Brazilië, zijn die twee races ook echt twijfelachtig aan het worden. Mogelijke alternatieve oplossingen zouden een tweede GP van de VS zijn, hetzij in Austin, hetzij met een terugkeer naar Indianapolis", zei Schmidt.

"Er zou ook een tweede Grand Prix in Bahrein kunnen worden gehouden op de korte variant van de baan, terwijl sommige mensen zelfs Losail in Qatar in beeld brengen", voegde hij eraan toe. "Het ziet er echter niet naar uit dat de Formule 1 naar Duitsland zal terugkeren. De Nürburgring en Hockenheim voeren momenteel geen echte discussies over een mogelijke vervangende race."

Het zou verschrikkelijk jammer zijn als Japan niet doorgaat, mede gezien het feit dat Honda officieel afscheid gaat nemen van de F1! Mexico en Brazilië ook jammer omdat dat het baantje is van Max en Singapore omdat die goed ligt voor RB

  Ach, De Red Bull familie heeft genoeg thuis-GP's dit jaar:
  
  Silverstone: Fabriek
  Oostenrijk 1&2: Red Bull
  Mexico: Perez
  Nederland: Verstappen
  België: Verstappen
  Japan: Honda/Tsunoda
  Frankrijk: Gasly
  
  De tweede op de Red Bull Ring hebben ze al gratis gekregen en als er één of twee afvallen dan heb ik niet heel erg veel medelijden met Red Bull. Alhoewel ik natuurlijk veel liever wél races op die banen zie.

  Wat Beerkuh bedoeld is dat de kans op een titel iets kleiner wordt als Mexico, Brazilië er van af vallen. Japan is een thuis race voor Honda, die ze nergens anders hebben. Overigens ook een baan waar RB vaak goed voor de dag kwam.

Zo zie je dat er voor mensen die reeds gevaccineerd zijn dus geen uitzonderingen worden gemaakt. Volgens mij is iedereen binnen de F1 al gevaccineerd, dus ik zou zeggen laat ze lekker racen.

  Als de lokale ziekenhuizen volliggen met covid-patiënten en er niet voldoende capaciteit (personeel, ruimtes en apparatuur) beschikbaar is om eventuele calamiteiten op te vangen, dan kan het hele feest niet doorgaan.
  
  In het verleden hebben we regelmatig gezien dat sessies stil werden gelegd omdat de medische helikopter niet kon vliegen, hetzelfde geldt als de ziekenhuizen de nodige zorg niet kunnen leveren.

Maleisie graag..en Japan kan hopelijk blijven voor Honda's afscheid..tja..in Quatar met 73 graden tempratuur moet er ook albeen WK gespeeld worden. Laat F1 er a.u.b maar met een grote boog omheen sturen.

  Dit dus. Jammer dat voor de rest Maleisië niet wordt genoemd. Ik weet natuurlijk ook niet hoe het daar voor de rest met de besmettingen zit en de staat van het circuit zelf.

Vreemd dat die landen zo moeilijk doen. Ze zien toch ook dat er prima een raceweekend georganiseerd kan worden met alle maatregelen die de FIA neemt. Ze Denken in moeilijkheden blijkbaar
