Nick Heidfeld ergert zich aan "puppybescherming" voor Mick Schumacher

Mick Schumacher geniet volgens de voormalige F1-coureur Nick Heidfeld een speciale, zoals hij het noemt "puppybescherming" Heidfeld constateert dat de zoon van de grote Michael Schumacher met fluwelen handschoentjes aan wordt behandeld door de Formule 1-media, al ware hij breekbaar porselein.

Nick Heidfeld, zelf een degelijke subtopper die tijdens zijn F1-loopbaan vaak minder zichtbaar en uitgesproken in de media was, vindt nu dat de zoon van zijn voormalige tijdgenoot Michael Schumacher "zijn werk tot nu toe goed doet". Schumacher maakt dit seizoen zijn F1-debuut naarst Nikita Mazepin bij Haas F1.

"We mogen niet vergeten onder welke soort controle hij staat", vertelde hij aan Sport1 over dat enorme vergrootglas waaronder alle uitlatingen en prestaties van Schumacher 'junior' zullen worden gelegd.

Heidfeld gaat verder: "Wat ik niet leuk vind, is deze geweldige puppybescherming die hij in de media geniet. Het is duidelijk dat iedereen hoopt dat de volgende Schumacher komt en dat hij ook succesvol zal zijn."

"Toen hij zijn eerste inhaalmanoeuvre in de Formule 1 maakte werd hij bejubeld en toegejuicht alsof het het beste is dat de wereld ooit zag, vertelde Heidfeld, die nu 44 jaar oud is.

QuickNick vervolgt: "Van de buitenkant vind ik het een beetje overdreven, maar daar kan Mick niets aan doen.Ik denk wel dat het beter is om positief verslag over hem te doen, dan dat we hem gaan pesten. Maar het risico bestaat natuurlijk dat dit op een gegeven moment verandert."

Kan me helemaal vinden in de woorden van Heidfeld. Klaarblijkelijk zal en moet die jongen slagen in de F1 omdat hij Schumacher heet. Gewoon misplaatst vals sentiment. Zonder die achternaam had hij de F1 geeneens gehaald. De enige reden waarom Steiner hem heeft aangetrokken is omdat hij verwachtte dat er in het kielzog van Mick er vele sponsors zouden komen.

  "Zonen van" vallen door de mand of slagen juist erg goed, Sainz Verstappen Rosberg Hill etc.
  
  Ik ben nog niet overtuigd van Mick. En ik geloof ook dat iemand/organisatie Schumacher koste wat koste moet laten slagen en aan he uschen is. Ik zie hem op dit moment nog niet Sainz of Leclerc vervangen om eerlijk te zijn.

  @Comando, vermoed dat het wel eens een probleem voor Ferrari kan worden.
  Straks wordt het misschien wel eens tijd om hem in een Ferrari te zetten terwijl ze wellicht (veel) betere opties hebben.

Het ligt ook wel een beetje aan de persoon. Bij Mick heb ik de indruk dat het gewoon een aardige gast is, dus benader je hem zo. Bij Nikita heb ik de indruk dat het gewoon een kwal is en daar ga je met gestrekt been in.....

Soms heb je het idee dat mensen denken dat F1 ,,of topsport uberhaupt ,,een soort liefdadigheid is.. ik wil dat pietje of marietje wint want die is zo aardig.. Zat me vorigjaar al zo te ergeren aan de mensen die de ontzettend aardige Hulkenberg naast Verstappen wilde zien.. Wat zijn in topsport dat soort sentimenten nou waard? Schumacher zit nu alleen maar in de F1 vanwege zn naam ,zo simpel is het.. En ook hij zal tzt wel in de middenmoot kunnen meedoen , maar zit hij er vanwege dezelfde talenten en gedrevenheid als pa? Nee dus…
