Schumacher zelf "denkt niet na over volgend jaar" maar media doen dat wel: 'Mick naar Alfa Romeo'

Mick Schumacher zegt zich niet zo bezig te houden met waar hij volgend seizoen zijn loopbaan in de Formule 1 wil voortzetten. De media zijn er wel druk mee en volgens de laatste roddels binnen de paddock zou Schumacher wel eens naar Alfa Romeo kunnen gaan.

Mick Schumacher was al voor hij bij Haas F1 werd geplaatst gelieerd aan het team waar nu Kimi Raikkonen en Antonio Giovinazzi rijden.

Mick Schumacher wil er met journalisten niet over praten, want hij zegt in het "hier en nu" te leven. Vooruit plannen is nu nog niet van belang, zegt hij.

Schumacher zegt tegen verslaggevers: "Ik denk niet echt na over wat er volgend jaar gaat gebeuren. Eens kijken hoe het zich allemaal ontvouwt", zei de jonge Duitser.

Volgens Jos Verstappen, die vroeger met de familie Schumacher nog wel eens samen op vakantie ging, zou het team van Haas ook in 2022 een hele goede plek kunnen zijn voor de jonge zoon van Jos Verstappen's oud-collega en voormalige vriend Michael Schumacher.

"Ik denk dat ze volgend jaar meer steun van Ferrari zullen krijgen. Ik geloof echt dat er achter de schermen hard wordt gewerkt", zei de Nederlander.

"Al bij Haas zie je dat hij het veel beter doet dan Mazepin. Hij spint veel minder vaak en gaat veel beter met de druk om."

Wat er waar is van de verhalen dat Alfa Romeo de Duitser volgend jaar in hun auto heeft, dat valt alleen maar af te wachten. Schumacher zelf concentreert zich voorlopig op de eerste volgende race op de kalender, en dat de Grand Prix van Oostenrijk die komend weekend wordt verreden op de Red Bull Ring in Oostenrijk, nabij Spielberg.

Haas ontwikkelt de auto dit jaar helemaal niet, daardoor staan ze stijf achteraan. Je kan Mick dus alleen vergelijken met Mazepin, maar wat is dat vergelijk überhaupt waard? Echt heel veel sneller dan Mazepin is Mick nou ook weer niet. In kwalificatie zet hij de snelste tijd neer, maar het verschil is zelden meer dan 0.2 sec met Mazepin. En laten we wel wezen, Mazepin is nou niet echt het toptalent....duh...
Goed dat hij ervaring kan opdoen, maar ik twijfel aan de echte racecraft van Mick. It's all in the name als je het mij vraagt.

  En da's prima; Mick is geen blaaskaak maar een zeer bescheiden coureur die al vaker bewezen heeft een wat langere aanloop nodig te hebben. Ik denk dat deze Haas een pittige maar goede leerschool voor hem is. Hij kan best nog in zijn rol groeien en zie in hem een soort van Mark Webber-type/kaliber..
  Alfa Romeo (of hoe ze in 2022 ook gaan heten) of Haas; ik weet niet wat beter is. De 'verwaarloosde' Haas van 2021 hoeft geen graadmeter voor 2022 te zijn als ze vh begin enkel ingezet hebben op 2022.

  En toch wordt Mazepin wel slechter afgeschilderd dan hij werkelijk is. Heeft af en toe een steekje los, maar is niet dat hij het tempo niet bij kan benen.

Uit de F3 en F2 weten we dat Mick wat meer tijd nodig heeft. Dankzij zijn naam zal hij ook wel een 2e jaar in de F1 krijgen om te laten zien wat hij kan, maar als hij het volgend jaar bijvoorbeeld dik aflegt tegen Giovinazzi en een Alfa is het einde verhaal. Ik denk dat hij het volgende stapje wel kan maken en misschien komt er dankzij de budgetcap wel een gezonder financieel F1 klimaat waardoor hij nog wat mooie jaren voor zich heeft in de F1 (minder paydrivers nodig?), de absolute top zie ik hem echter nooit halen.

Ik zou Mick wel eens naast Gio willen zien. Ja... Raikkonen is een geweldige gozer en heeft veel voor de F1 betekent, maar op pure snelheid moet hij het nu bijna altijd afleggen tegenover GIO. Er is een tijd van komen en een tijd gaan, en dat laatste gaat ook op voor Raikkonen vind ik.

  De tijd van gaan is ook alweer verdwenen bij RAI. Helaas. Inderdaad doet GIO niet echt meer onder voor hem. En dan is het wat mij betreft al te laat. Al blijft hij wel een mooi karakter die gemist gaat worden mocht hij uiteindelijk er de brui aan geven

  mee eens. Ik heb Kimi altijd een leuke rijder gevonden.
  Maar als ex kampioen en Ferrari rijder gelijkwaardig zijn aan Gio (hij legt het qua snelheid zelfs vaak af) nee dan voeg je niet veel meer toe.
  En het moet natuurlijk niet zo zijn dat een ervaren rijder (met wat voor staat van dienst dan ook) zomaar zelf kan bepalen hoelang ze nog zin in het spelletje hebben cq hun bankrekening verder willen spekken.
  Dan vind ik dat zo iemand die kans moet worden ontnomen. f1 is geen hobby club.
  Van Schumi jr. ben ik niet overtuigd, maar ik vind dat hij een kans moet krijgen bij AR, volgend jaar geen opzienbarende dingen dan exit.
