Ziggo Sport houdt tv-rechten IndyCar en Formule E binnenboord

Het hing al een tijdje in de lucht, maar Ziggo Sport heeft het contract voor het uitzenden van de IndyCar en Formule E verlengd.

Met het wegvallen van de Formule 1 zal de zender rondom de IndyCar-wedstrijden flink gaan uitpakken. Dit is ook mede te danken aan de prestaties van Rinus 'VeeKay' van Kalmthout in deze Amerikaanse klasse. In het weekend van de Indy 500 was daar al een voorproefje van te zien met een uitgebreide voor -en nabeschouwing.

De contractverlenging met de Formule E komt ook niet uit de lucht vallen. In deze klasse zijn Nyck de Vries en Robin Frijns actief en doen het daar meer dan behoren. In het huidige seizoen staan beide coureurs zelfs één en twee in het kampioenschap en is er een grote kans aanwezig dat één van beide als eerste Nederlander een FIA-wereldkampioenschap wint.

    Tsja…. is toch net een beetje alsof je de rechten van de Champions League kwijt bent en dan maar besluit om te proberen je kijkers te houden door de Europa League extra lang uit te zenden. En de Keuken Kampioen divisie in geval van FE.

      Jammer voor VeeKay, Nyck en Robin, maar je hebt wel gelijk.
      Deze klassen doen er volgens mij ook alles aan om maar niet vergeleken te kunnen worden met de F1, omdat mensen dan zien hoe "inferieur" ze zijn ten opzichte van zelfs een geknepen Formule 1 auto. Zo snel als deze klassen in hetzelfde weekend op hetzelfde circuit met dezelfde layout rijden, dan zie je pas de echte verschillen. Sommige zullen dan volgens mij schrikken van de verschillen.

      @Smitters; ja, helaas wel. Ik heb het afgelopen weekend het nog even geprobeerd met FE, maar na die hotse bots vertoning tussen Buemi en Rast heb ik de handdoek gegooid. Alsof je naar de Renault Clio cup van weleer zat te kijken met die BN'ers die zo nodig moesten laten zien dat ze niks in een race auto hadden te zoeken...

      Het zijn vooral de F1 fans die de vergelijkingen maken. Niet alles is even snel als de F1 en dat hoeft toch ook niet?

      Indycar is een compleet andere serie en set up dus waarom vergelijken met F1? Ja ze zijn langzamer maar so what? Zullen tijden van de F2 produceren schat ik (kijkend naar het verschil in rondetijd op COTA) maar het racen is er wel leuk.

      FE kijk ik ook en het is (naar mijn mening) een leuke klasse die je als opstapklasse moet zien (zo kijk ik er tenmiste naar) in de autosport ladder. Niet elke serie hoeft even snel/duur/exclusief etc te zijn als de F1 en kunnen toch nog leuk zijn.

      @Beemerdude, de races in London waren wel heel erg in de FE ja. Nog genoeg om te verbeteren!

      Gaat mij vooral om het kijkplezier.

    IndyCar is leuk om te kijken maar waarschijnlijk gaan ze daar weer zo'n schijt lollige show van maken met Kamphuus, de coronelletjes en Doornbos. Ik hoop dat ze dat niet doen, doe maar bij FE, daar kijkt toch geen hond naar.

      Aan de ene kant vond ik het jammer als Ziggo abonnee dat de races gingen verdwijnen.
      Maar eigenlijk ben ik blij verlost te zijn van Coronel en Plooij.

      Hoop dat ze bij ziggo blijven het stijgt Doornbos enKamphuis ,tom een beetje naar de bol.
      Zet er maar allard calf en cees vd grind neer die hebben meer verstand en maken er geen circus van.

      @Eamm; nee, da's lekker, een Kalff die werkelijk geen seconde z'n muil kan houden...🙈 Gelukkig heb ik m'n Sky DE ontvanger nog, F1 in 4K. Ik heb gewoon iets tegen streamen, als het niet het idee is niet live te zitten kijken met een halve minuut vertraging dan is het wel dat brakke amper 720p beeld. Bij Netflix noemen ze dat UHD trouwens...🤣

    Jammer voor Ziggo, maar ik ga niet een extra abonnement aanschaffen voor IndyCar. Zou het graag willen blijven volgen, maar alles is tegenwoordig al duur genoeg.
