Feiten en cijferes over de Hongaarse Grand Prix op de Hungaroring

Dit weekend staat de Hongaarse Formule 1 Grand Prix op het programma op de Hungaroring nabij Budapest, meer specifiek bij Mogyorod in Hongarije. De bochtige baan heeft veertien bochten en de allereerste race in 1986 werd er gewonnen door Nelson Piquet.

Er wordt zondag 70 ronden lang gereden op de baan die 4381 meter lang is. Dat brengt de totale racelengte op 306,630 kilometer. Dit weekend wordt er de elfde Grand Prix in het Formule 1 wereldkampioenschap 2021 gereden. Het is de laatste race voor de zomerstop van drie weken in de Formule 1.

Lewis Hamilton pakte vorig jaar pole position op de Hungaroring in 1:13.447. Vanaf de eerste startplek won Lewis Hamilton de race, waarmee hij hard op weg ging nara zijn zevende wereldtitel in de Formule 1. Hamilton reed ook de snelste raceronde in 1:16.627. Hamilton wist maarliefst acht keer te winnen op de Hungaroring en kan dit weekend zijn honderdste Grand Prix-overwinning pakken. Eerder won hij al in 2007, 2009, 2012 in een McLaren. In 2013, 2016, 2018, 2019 en 2020 won hij met Mercedes op het bochtige baantje.

Als Hamilton wint verbreekt hij het record van de meeste overwinningen in een Grand Prix. Dat record deelt Hamilton nu nog met Michael Schumacher, die de Franse Grand Prix acht keer wist te winnen. Hamilton won ook acht keer in Groot-Brittannië. Hamilton stond zeven keer op pole in Hongarije, en dat is wederom een record dat hij deelt met Michael Schumacher.

In het verleden wisten van de coureurs op de huidige grid ook Fernando Alonso, Kimi Raikkonen, Sebastian Vettel en Daniel Ricciardo ook te winnen in Hongarije.

Bijzondere overwinning op de baan was de zege van Jenson Button, die vanaf de veertiende plek wist te winnen in 2006. Daarmee is Button de laagst gestarte winnaar op de Hungaroring. Van de 35 races die er zijn gehouden op de Hungaroring werden er zestien gewonnen vanaf pole position. Dit weekend is dus de 36ste keer dat de Formule 1 racet op het asfalt in Hongarije in Oost-Europa.

De race gaat zondag om 15:00 uur Nederlandse tijd van start.

In Hongarije wordt je letterlijk onder de voet gelopen door de prostituees.
En daar zitten héle mooie meiden tussen!
Ik wist niet wat me overkwam toen ik daar een keer een GP bezocht.
