De zomerstop is inmiddels bijna ten einde, maar wat doen de teams tijdens de zomerstop?

Eigenlijk niets, al mag er het een en ander toch gebeuren. De fabrieken moeten echter 14 dagen achtereenvolgend sluiten, maar daar zitten een hoop haken en ogen aan:

De teams mogen alles doen, in die 14 dagen, wat niet te maken heeft met de bolide van dat seizoen. Er mogen dus geen onderdelen gemaakt worden, maar ook geen vluchten worden geregeld voor de teams en de coureurs. De windtunnel mag niet gebruikt worden voor F1-activiteiten en vele andere dingen zijn verboden.

Maar wat mag dan wel? De financiële afdeling mag doorwerken, evenals marketing en rechtszaken mogen doorgaan. Tijdens de shutdown, mogen bolides worden gerepareerd, mits daar toestemming voor is van de FIA.
