Pirelli verwacht verschillende strategieën in België

Aankomend weekend is de zomerstop van de Formule 1 eindelijk weer voorbij. De Grand Prix van België staat dan weer op de planning en iedereen hoopt op een spannend weekend op het iconische circuit in Spa-Francorchamps en zoals altijd kunnen de banden daar weer een rol bij spelen.

Op de langste baan van de kalender kunnen we gaan genieten van veel verschillende strategieën tenminste dat denkt Pirelli-bons Mario Isola. In een Pirelli persbericht kijkt hij vooruit: "De meerderheid van de coureurs ging vorig jaar van de mediumband naar de harde band, de meeste van de pitstops werden gedicteerd door de safety car in de elfde ronde. Dus we kunnen een interessante mix van strategieën zien dit jaar."

Isola kijkt ook nog even naar de bijzonderheden van het circuit en wat dit voor zijn rubbertjes betekent: "De uitdagingen van dit circuit en dan vooral het weer zijn bekend. Net als de belasting van de banden." Maar of we veel van het weer kunnen verwachten valt nog te bezien, er is wel kansje op regen maar weerstations vertellen allemaal iets anders.

België begint langzamerhand een soort thuiskomen te worden van Pirelli. "De Belgische Grand Prix is ons derde bezoek aan Spa in zeer korte tijd in weer andere context, na de 24 uur van Spa, de Ypres Rally Belgium nu de Formule 1."

Als het droog is dus een eenstopper van soft naar hard of medium naar hard, pirelli is wat dat betreft bijna even betrouwbaar als AWS
