Fittipaldi geeft demo in Spa in een bijzondere auto

Dit weekend ontwaakt de Formule 1 weer uit de zomerstop. Op het circuit van Spa zullen de hedendaagse Formule 1-coureurs echter niet de enige zijn die een Formule 1 wagen over het asfalt zullen jagen.

In de Fan Zone zullen waarschijnlijk de wagens staan die in 1998 op het podium eindigde. De race werd gewonnen door Damon Hill in een Jordan maar gaat vooral de geschiedenisboekjes in als de wedstrijd met de mega startcrash.

Het zijn niet de enige klassiekers die op het circuit aanwezig zijn. Volgens SoyMotor.com zal namelijk ook tweevoudig wereldkampioen Emerson Fittipaldi zijn opwachting maken. De 74-jarige Braziliaan zal een aantal rondjes rijden in een bijzondere auto. Na zijn succesvolle jaren bij McLaren vertrok hij namelijk naar het team van zijn broer Wilson. Fittipaldi reed tot 1980 zijn rondjes in een Copersucar (Fittipaldi Automotive). Volgens SoyMotor.com zal hij op vrijdag en zaterdag hier een aantal rondjes in rijden.

Fittipaldi zal niet de enige oud-Formule 1 coureur zijn die zijn opwachting maakt. Ook de Belgische Eric van der Poele zal namelijk een demo geven. De Belg zal een aantal rondjes rijden in een Fondmetal.

    Eric van der Poele in de 1992 Fondmetal ? dat was best een mooie auto (vond de livery ook wel mooi :) (had hem nagemaakt met de f1 challenge mod van RH2005 (op de red Bull) toen der tijd :)
