Nieuw circuit in Amerika heeft Miami International Autodrome

Aankomend jaar staat er weer een nieuwe Grand Prix op de kalender. In 2022 zal de koningsklasse namelijk naar Miami trekken voor een tweede Grand Prix in Amerika.

Het circuit slingert over het Hard Rock stadium Complex in Miami Gardens. Vooralsnog was het nog niet bekend wat de naam van het nieuwe circuit was. Daar is nu verandering in gekomen want de organisatie heeft bekend gemaakt dat het circuit door het leven zal gaan onder de volgende naam: het Miami International Autodrome.

Het circuit zal ongeveer 5,4 kilometer lang zijn en telt 19 bochten. Ook zijn er drie rechte stukken wat dus betekent dat er potentieel drie DRS-zones zijn. Het Autodrome is de elfde baan in Amerika waar de Formule 1 gaat racen. Naast het Circuit of the Americas in Austin is het in 2022 de tweede Amerikaanse baan op de kalender. De race in Austin zal door het leven gaan als de Amerikaanse Grand Prix. De race op het nieuwe circuit rondom het stadion van Miami Dolphins zal luisteren naar de naam Miami Grand Prix.
