Volgend jaar wel DRS in kombocht? Ross Brawn ziet het zitten

Eigenlijk was het de bedoeling dat de heren coureurs dit weekend in de laatste kombocht (de Arie Lyendykbocht) hun DRS al mochten openen. De FIA stak hier echter een stokje voor tot teleurstelling van velen.

Formule 1-bons Ross Brawn heeft nu in gesprek met Motorsport.com gezegd dat daar in de toekomst wel verandering in kan komen. Brawn: "Hopelijk kunnen we ,als we de data hebben bekeken, terug naar ons originele idee om de DRS al te openen aan het begin van de banking, wat een beetje zal helpen."

De angst bestond dat er maar heel weinig ingehaald kon worden in Zandvoort. Gelukkig waren er toch genoeg inhaalacties. Volgens Brawn waren er gelukkig wel pogingen maar niet heel veel: "Er waren inhaalacties, je kon het doen. Het was lastig, maar het kon. Dat was heel goed." Of de DRS in 2022 echt open mag in de kombocht is nog lang niet zeker dat zal de wereld waarschijnlijk volgend jaar pas weten.

    Volgens mij zijn er aardig wat inhaalacties geweest. En meestal werden die inhaalacties beslist in de Tarzan bocht. Dat is toch wat we willen zien? Ik word in ieder geval niet bijzonder enthousiast van een DRS inhaalactie die al voor het rempunt voorbij is. Al helemaal niet als de coureur erachter helemaal niet zijn wagen hoeft te positioneren om goed in de slipstream te komen.

      Niet dat DRS zalig is maar je moet toch minimaal op 1sec komen vooraleer je het mag activeren. In Q lijkt het me in ieder geval een interessant gegeven, tenminste als het knopje werkt.

      In de R was het met de hardste compounds nog steeds "managen" van de banden. Daar extra druk zetten kan ook leuke strategieën opbrengen.... Wie weet kan niet iedereen meer vol gas erdoor dan....

      Misschien mis ik er nog een paar, maar dat zijn toch 15 inhaalacties. Voor een race met geen incidenten is dat best wel veel. Het moet ook niet te makkelijk worden.

      Juist het feit dat het inhalen moeilijk was, maar niet onmogelijk, maakte het voor mij een mooie F1 race.

      Ik heb helemaal niks met die nep DRS inhaalacties zoals op veel circuits te zien zijn, er moet voor geknokt worden.

      Wat dat betreft had ook de laatste 2 ronden de strijd tussen Sainz en Alonso gezien die Alonso toch maar mooi wist te winnen.

    Eerst maar eens zien hoe die wagens het doen volgend jaar.
    Als tijdens de test blijkt dat DRS niet meer nodig zal zijn, mogen ze van mij allaminuut die DRS voor het hele seizoen dr af slopen.

    zijn er niet meer plekken die ze kunnen verbouwen om meer inhaalacties te creeeren?

    Had natuurlijk dit jaar ook al gemoeten en makkelijk gekund. FIA bemoeizucht begin die Masi wel zat te worden zolangsamerhand.

      Ik ben best kritisch op CPZ of zoals ze het nu willen cm punt com Zandvoort.
      Goed maar ze hebben hun huiswerk goed gedaan en alle kritiek die er op het oude circuit was ter harte genomen.
      Na zo'n eclatant succes is dit een blijvertje zolang Max in de top blijft rijden.
