Ferrari wisselt weer motor Leclerc, orginele motor terug in de auto

Het weekend in Monza draait voor Charles Leclerc voorlopig om het wisselen van motoren. In de kwalificatie op vrijdag had zijn motor wat probleempjes waarop Ferrari besloot een oudere motor in de wagen te lepelen voor zaterdag. Nu is bekend geworden dat er weer is gewisseld.

De Monegask zal vanmiddag om 15:00 namelijk aan de start verschijnen met de motor waarmee hij aan het weekend begon. Het Italiaanse team heeft de problemen die motor gefixed en terug geplaatst in de auto. Leclerc reed gister met zijn vervangende motor naar de zesde plaats in de sprintkwalificatie. Hij zal vanaf de vijfde plek starten door de straf van Valtteri Bottas.

Geen straf dus voor Leclerc. Het team heeft inderdaad de motor gewisseld onder de parc fermé regels maar teams mogen onderdelen vervangen als ze exact dezelfde specificaties hebben. En laat dit nu het geval zijn bij de motorruil in de wagen van de Monegask. Het was overigens niet zo dat de motor in eerste instantie werd vervangen omdat hij bijna uit elkaar viel. Ferrari wisselde uit voorzorg de motor en de handige heren van het team hebben de euveltjes verholpen.

Zijn er geen parc ferme regels voor de motor ofzo? Anders zou je Motor#1 een quali motor kunnen maken en Motor#2 een racemotor.

Lijkt me nou niet dat dit zomaar kan.

Motor #3 is vervangen voor motor #1 en nu dus weer terug naar de gerepareerde #3, welke een stuk minder kilometers op de teller heeft, positief dus voor Leclerc op een circuit als Monza.

  Aangezien je met dezelfde mapping moet rijden voor kwalificatie en race is dat niet mogelijk.

  1 en 3 zijn dezelfde specs uit de pool van 3 welke bij de FIA zijn ingeschreven, dus mogen ze die wisselen zo vaak ze willen.

  @Tylahunter: Ja, dat kan wel zomaar. Sterker nog, zo doen ze het. Ze beginnen het seizoen met een verse motor en als die een bepaald aantal km's heeft wordt hij trainingsmotor. Er komt dan een verse race motor in. Na een tijdje heb je dan twee trainingsmotoren en weer een verse racemotor. Bij problemen zoals Leclerc nu had kun je echter gewoon zo'n trainingsmotor in de race gebruiken. En ook later weer wisselen. Zolang je maar met dezelfde drie motoren blijft werken kun je wisselen zo vaak je wilt. Pas als de vierde motor aan bod komt volgen er gridstraffen.
