Capito spreekt zelfisolatie Zandvoort tegen: "Heb de race gevolgd vanaf kantoor"

De coronabesmetting van Kimi Räikkönen in Zandvoort had ook gevolgen voor het team van Williams. Räikkönen had de dag daarvoor namelijk gedineerd met Williams-teambaas Jost Capito. De teambaas liet daarna de rest van het weekend verstek gaan en ging in zelfisolatie.

Nu spreekt Capito echter tegen dat hij dat deed. In gesprek met de Duitse tak van Sky maakt de Williams-bons dit eventjes duidelijk: "We hebben het er jaren over gehad dat we een keer een hapje moeten eten. Het kon eindelijk een keertje. We hielden ons keurig aan de social distancing regels, zelfs aan tafel."

Maar in zelfisolatie zat hij niet na de ontmoeting met de corona-positieve Fin: "Ik was niet in quarantaine zoals veel werd gezegd en ik ben ook niet in zelfisolatie gegaan. Maar om alle risico's weg te houden bij het team heb ik gezegd ik ga naar huis. Ik heb de race gevolgd vanuit mijn kantoor, waar ik ook toegang heb tot al het radiocontact en de data. Dat werkt net zo goed als op het circuit."

Als je naar huis gaat om de risico's bij het team weg te houden is dat toch gewoon "zelf isolatie "?
Hij isoleert zichzelf immers van het team.
Ik denk dat hier wordt bedoeld dat hij nooit in 'quarantaine' is gegaan.
