Pierre Gasly kleurloos naar P13: "Wij verdienden vandaag geen punten"

Pierre Gasly komt troosteloos als dertiende onder het zwart-wit geblokt door tijdens Grand Prix van Rusland in Sotsji. De AlphaTauri-coureur ziet dat er door hem en het team te veel fouten zijn gemaakt. "Wij verdienden vandaag geen punten", stelt hij voor de camera bij F1.com.

Op de website van het team zegt Gasly over zijn race: "Het was bepaald geen goed weekend voor ons, we lieten al een grote kans liggen tijdens de kwalificatie en tijdens de race maakten wij opnieuw de verkeerde beslissing met de slicks. Daardoor eindigden wij helaas buiten de punten. De snelheid was goed en ik denk dat we een goede eerste stint reden, maar helaas konden we geen gebruik maken van alle kansen die er dit weekend voor ons lagen, wat erg zonde is."

De Fransoos vervolgt: "We moeten alles stevig analyseren en ontdekken hoe wij het meeste uit dit soort omstandigheden kunnen halen in het vervolg. Het is een weekend om te vergeten, maar we hebben een goed team en ik vertrouw erop dat we terug kunnen slaan tijdens de volgende race."

Tsunoda deed het zo mogelijk nog minder: De Japanner reed van de twaalde startplek naar een droevige zeventiende plaats. Het team gokte om zachte slicks te monteren, terwijl anderen al waren gewisseld naar de inters. Dat pakte verkeerd uit voor de jonge Japanner, waarna hij een extra stop moest maken om toch ook maar de gegroefde banden te laten monteren.

Klopt, en andezijds, Gasly weet dat het enkel en alleen uitstel is als Max er aan komt. Beetje ophouden betekent uiteindelijk dat Max d'r op en d'r over gaat. Dus beter om het deurtje open te zetten en de strijd niet aan te gaan.

waren gisteren onzichtbaar, Gasly is normaal zo'n jongen die altijd wel stevig meedoet in de top 10. Volgende race beter

Meest opmerkelijke was dat hij heel vriendelijk aan de kant ging voor Max op aandringen van zijn engineer. Het zijn twee teams, maar als het echt ergens om gaat heeft iemand bij RBR nog wel wat te zeggen over AT.

Het zijn 2 lange weekenden geweest voor alphatauri, gasly verdienden zeker een punt voor de regen, toen het begin te regen vond ik gasly maar matig. Kop op en naar de volgende race!

RB had het ook best lastig vergeet dit niet Perez kon geen vuist maken tegen Hamilton, Max had ook een zeer matige race imo, Alonso ging er zelf voorbij op een bepaald moment dat was toch even slikken ..

Zonder de regen was Max 7de geworden dat zegt genoeg, bij deze hebben ze alsnog een zaakje gedaan.
