Räikkönen op zijn hoede: "Turkije zal ook een interessante race worden"

Kimi Räikkönen vervolgt in Turkije zijn afscheidstournee vast en zeker met een goed gevoel. De Finse Alfa Romeo-piloot scoorde punten bij de laatste race in Sotsji en is een van de weinige coureurs die al vaker heeft geracet op Istanbul Park.

Op de website van zijn team kijkt Räikkönen eerst eventjes terug op zijn Russische regenavonturen: "Het is altijd fijn als je in de top tien finisht, helemaal als je zo vaak dichtbij het doel bent geweest. Het resultaat kwam tot stand in specifieke omstandigheden dus qua performance kunnen we er niet veel mee, maar we moesten wel wat keuzes maken en dat deden we goed. We bleven koel in moeilijke momenten."

Als ervaren rot weet Räikkönen dan ook wel wat er van hem wordt verwacht op de Turkse baan: "Turkije zal ook een interessante race worden. Vorig jaar was het een enerverende dag en we kunnen dat niet uitvlakken voor dit jaar. We moeten scherp zijn en kijken hoe dingen zich vormen als het weekend vorm krijgt."
