Gasly snelste in VT3, vijfde tijdens kwalificatie: "Heb van elke ronde genoten"

Fransman Pierre Gasly komt dit weekend bijzonder sterk voor de dag in Turkije. De Fransman is het hele weekend al aanzienlijk sneller dan zijn Japanse teamgenoot Yuki Tsunoda en hij nestelt zich in de top. Tijdens de derde vrije training was Gasly nog de snelste van allemaal op de baan die half nat, half droog was. . Tijdens de kwalificatie kwam Gasly tot de vijfde snelste tijd. Met zijn snelle ronde bleek de AlphaTauri-coureur bijna vier tienden van een seconde sneller dan Sergio Perez, die in een sneller geachte bolide rijdt. De Mexicaanse Perez kwam slechts tot de zevende snelste tijd.

Vanwege Hamilton's gridstraf start Gasly vanaf de tweede startrij. De Fransman is goed te spreken over de snelheid in de AlphaTauri dit weekend. "Dit resultaat geeft een goed gevoel. Terwijl ik vrijdag nog last had van onderstuur, pakten de aanpassingen die vannacht zijn doorgevoerd aan mijn auto gelukkig goed uit. Deze ochtend konden we uiteraard niet goed controleren of de aanpassingen ook goed zouden uitpakken (vanwege de regenbuien vooraf aan de VT3, Red.). Wij hadden echt een goede auto voor de kwalificatie en ik heb van elke ronde genoten." Gasly's teamgenoot, de Japanner Tsunoda, kwam tot de negende tijd. Tsunoda is teleurgesteld.

Alpine verslaan

Gasly ziet dat het hem dit seizoen goed vergaat en dus stelt hij zijn ambities naar boven bij. De Fransman denkt dat AlphaTauri de concurrenten van Alpine kan verslaan voor de vijfde plaats in het kampioenschap. Alpine staat 19 punten voor op AlphaTauri in de voorlopige WK-stand voor constructeurs. Gasly hoopt zijn Italiaanse team uit Faenza te kunnen leiden naar de vijfde plaats in het kampioenschap.

  inderdaad..wat voor waarde heeft dit artikel nu nog om te plaatsen op 10 okt? zeer amateuristisch..maar past wel goed bij de gehele opzet..dat dan weer wel
