Teams en coureurs krijgen 2 testweken in 2022

Dit jaar konden de teams slechts een weekje testen voordat het seizoen begon. Voorafgaand de eerste Grand Prix reden de heren coureurs enkele dagen hun rondjes in Bahrein. Aankomend seizoen zal het echter anders zijn en krijgen de team zelfs twee testweken.

Meerdere media melden nu dat de teams en coureurs in 2022 acht testdagen krijgen verdeeld over twee weken. Eerst zullen ze afreizen naar Barcelona om daar op het Circuit de Catalunya van 21 februari tot 25 februari de eerste testmeters te maken. Daarna vertrekken ze weer naar Bahrein om daar van 10 maart tot 12 maart te gaan testen.

De 2022 kalender is sowieso over vol. Zoals het er nu naar uitziet staan er dan 23 races op de roller en deze worden tussen maart en november verreden. De laatste Grand Prix is op 20 november. Dit is waarschijnlijk zo omdat een dag later het wereldkampioenschap voetbal in Qatar begint. Vanwege dat kampioenschap keert de Formule 1 ook pas weer in 2023 terug in het land waar ze dit jaar debuteren.
