Dat Sebastian Vettel zich steeds vaker inzet voor een goed milieu is inmiddels wel duidelijk. Ook in Austin deed de Duitser weer een duid in het zakje met een oproep aan de vele fans op de tribunes. Bij de drivers parade voorafgaand de race ging hij niet in op de vraag om even wat in het Duits te zeggen maar deed hij iets significant anders.

Vettel richtte zich direct tot het juichende publiek: "Het is mij opgevallen dat iedereen het naar zijn zin heeft vandaag. Maar ruim alsjeblieft je afval op!" Zelf kende Vettel een race die hij niet bij het afval hoeft te zetten, hij reed vanuit het achterveld naar de tiende plaats.

      Alhoewel; als een Duitser dan zo kan duiden, dan kan een duid in een zakje toch meer waarde hebben dan een duit, dat lijkt me toch wel duidelijk ;-)

    Buiten dat ik het wel met hem eens ben en dat mensen hun eigen rotzooi niet zomaar op de grond moeten gooien of laten staan (omdat een ander het later wel opruimt) denk ik niet dat een F1 coureur zich hier druk om moet maken of moet oproepen in zo'n situatie.. Is helemaal niet des F1 dit.. Net als al dat woke gedoe van Lewis.. Het past gewoon niet in het imago van stoere mannen en ronkende motoren.. Een imago dat ik F1 wel graag zie behouden.. We hebben al genoeg gezeur over duurzaamheid, sociale gerechtigheid, klimaat, veiligheid in onze samenleving buiten de F1 tegenwoordig..

      Totaal niet met je eens Infiatable.

      Juist zij kunnen een voorbeeld functie geven. Genoeg mensen nemen meer aan van wat bv. Vettel zegt dan wat de overheid je verplicht. Plus het feit dat Vettel het echt zal menen en het doet omdat hij het echt gelooft... . De overheid kan je verplichten maar de ministers zullen het regelmatig doen uit functie, wat ze daarna (of in hun vrije tijd doen) zal er helemaal los van staan.

      Dus voor mij, respect en juist heel goed wat Vettel zegt.

    Vettel heeft een punt, laten we nou gewoon eerst eens beginnen met de wereld schoner achterlaten dan dat je het aantrof.

    Bij de gemiddelde drive-thru is het echt onwaarschijnlijk, dikke Tesla rijden voor milieu en uitstoot, maar wel zo dat zakje met afval letterlijk uit het raam op straat laten stuiteren en wegrijden
