Spraakmakende oud-hoofdsponsor Haas hint op comeback

In 2019 reed het team van Haas rond met de stickers van een opvallende hoofdsponsor. Dat jaar werd het team namelijk kortstondig gesponsord door energiedrankje Rich Energy. Het bedrijf betrad de Formule 1 met de nodige bombarie en verliet de sport even later weer met de nodige herrie.

Maar het energiedrankjes-bedrijf speelt al geruime tijd met het plan om weer terug te keren in de koningsklasse van de autosport. Het bedrijf van de excentrieke eigenaar William Storey roept al geruime tijd op social media dat ze terugkomen.

Op Twitter plaatste het bedrijf deze week een foto van de achterkant van een Formule 1-wagen in de Rich Energy-kleuren. Daarbij stond de veelzeggende tekst 'Chapter 2'. Hiermee lijkt het bedrijf te melden dat ze weer een Formule 1-team gaan sponsoren. Echter is het goed om te vermelden dat ze dit soort dingen al vaker de wereld in hebben geslingerd. Het is dan ook de vraag of Storey en consorten echt terugkeren.

      Door dit soort dingen te posten en aandacht aan te geven door verschillende nieuws sites, ontvangen ze al veel publiciteit. Want echt terugkomen gaan ze nooit meer. Of ze betalen vooraf voor het hele seizoen, maar dat doet geen een sponsor.

      Dit is niet heel anders dan de VW groep. Schreeuwen dat je toetreedt maar t komt er toch nooit van.

      Van mij mag Rich het best proberen als 11de team. Mooi achter Haas als nieuwe hekkensluiters.

    Bij het lezen van dergelijke berichten vraag ik me altijd af of ik nou zo naïef of wereldvreemd ben dat ik er niks van begrijp.
    Ik heb nog nooit één blikje van het merk gezien, toch moet er ergens geld zijn als je kijkt wat ze doen.
    Daarnaast ook nog constant roepen dat je een comeback gaat maken in de F1, terwijl dat naar alle schijn, nergens op gebaseerd is…

      @Pitcrew; dat heet witwassen/belasting ontwijken. Dat gaat prima als je meerdere bedrijven onder je holding hebt waarvan er een paar zijn geparkeerd in belasting paradijzen. Torenhoge kosten (management fees kun je alle kanten mee op) van Rich belasten aan de holding in normaal land (USA) zodat daar verlies geleden wordt. De winst gaat via de brievenbus firma op de Bahama’s etc en wordt amper belast. Enige wat je af en toe moet doen is wat lawaai maken zodat zichtbaar is dat je ‘bezig’ bent.

    Een man met een verleden van diverse bedrijven waarvan niemand weet wat ze deden en welke klanten hij had. Tevens een tabak plantage in Zimbabwe, dan gaan er bij mij bellen rinkelen. Mijn vroegere buurman had een "houthandel" in Afrika, Libië als ik het goed heb. Een porsche op de oprit met een Libies kenteken, tot de belastingdienst kwam en bleek dat het een slavenhandelaar was.
    Het is toch wel duidelijk dat deze wiskundig slimme jongen nog nooit 1 pond (of euro) verdiend heeft met "normale" handel.

      Vreemd genoeg zag ik dit merk recentelijk prominent in beeld verschijnen als hoofdsponsor van een groot vechtsport gala.

    aandachttrekkerij, meer is het niet.
    Met die dwaas gaat toch geen team meer in zee, althans is dat iets waar ik van uitga. Of hij moet al het sponsorgeld vooraf betalen en contractueel verboden worden de mond open te doen of het team en haar verrichtingen.

    Als ik naar de site kijk, dan sponsort hij redelijk wat auto en motorsport zaken. Of dit serieus is of gewoon een stickertje op de binnenkant van de helm, dat weet ik niet. Ik heb ooit gezien dat een van die sites met dagelijks een ander product de blikjes te koop aan bood, maar of mensen ook daadwerkelijk iets gekregen hebben en of dat echte blikjes waren, dat weet ik niet.
    Of Rich Energy daadwerkelijk gaat sponsoren of niet, ze weten wel de aandacht vast te houden en gratis reclame te blijven krijgen.

    Zou wel geniaal zijn als ze in zee gaan met Briatore en er straks een 11e team op de grid staat. Excentrieke figuren horen er bij in de formule 1.

    Tjeemig, ik speel ook al jaren met hetzelfde idee om toe te treden tot de F1. Ik heb jaren geleden ook iets aan sponsoring in de F1 gedaan. Maar dan van de FOM door toegangskaarten te kopen. Maar ik zit al op Chapter 3. Ben drie keer geweest.
