'Toch geen kledingvoorschriften in Saoedi-Arabië"

Over iets meer dan een maand is het zover: de eerste Grand Prix van Saoedi-Arabië. Alleen al de aankondiging van deze nieuwe race zorgde voor veel kritiek. Het Arabische land is immers geen baken van vrijheid. De kritiek werd alleen maar heviger nadat er kledingvoorschriften voor Formule 1-medewerkers uitlekten.

Enkele weken terug kwam er naar buiten dat de medewerkers zich in Saoedi-Arabië aan enkele kledingregels moeten houden. Zo mochten zowel mannen als vrouwen geen te korte of te blote kleding dragen. Hetzelfde zou gelden voor de aanwezige fans.

Nu blijkt dat dit uit de lucht gegrepen is. Volgens RaceFans is er namelijk helemaal niets van waar. Het platform heeft begrepen dat bezoekers en medewerkers straks in Jeddah gewoon aan mogen trekken wat ze maar willen. Het ministerie van sport zou erop wijzen dat de fans in de stad geen speciale kledingvoorschriften voor hun kiezen krijgen. Het is niet duidelijk hoe de eerdere berichtgeving de wereld in kwam en of de kritiek invloed heeft gehad op de dress code.

    Saoedi-Arabië moet wel, ze investeren nu miljarden in de sport, Salman wil het imago van zijn land op krikken, dus het kleding advies kan overboord.

    Hij bedoeld het goed, je moet alleen geen nare dingen over Saoedi-Arabië schrijven. anders wordt je uitgenodigd op een consulaat.

      Salman wil het imago van zijn land opkrikken ...., ja dat doet hij goed met journalisten vermoorden, mensenrechten schendingen (yemen) en noem maar op. Het is gewoon een schande dat er daar in die zandbak geracet gaat worden.., ga ik kijken, ja natuurlijk, misschien hou ik daar mede aan instand, maar dit is wel van de categorie wereldkampioenschap voetbal in Qatar. Walgelijk.

      Je kan beter zeggen waar was Nederland, bewijs was er in overvloed tegen Salman, Turkije heeft gewoon een deal gemaakt, Nederland heeft een deal al vele jaren, dat Saoedi-Arabië kan doen wat ze willen, daar hoor je geen kwaad woord over.

      Ik kijk uiteraard ook wel, maar als je maar niet vergeet hoe het wel werkelijk in elkaar steekt.

      Blijven ratten, niets meer en niets minder.
