Baas Australische GP ziet niets in rouleren: "Wij geloven dat continuïteit belangrijk is"

De Formule 1-kalender wordt steeds voller en voller. Steeds vaker klinken er dan ook geluiden om een aantal races te rouleren. Zo zijn er immers nog steeds veel verschillende circuits met een Grand Prix maar is de kalender minder vol. In Australië staan ze in ieder geval niet te springen voor het plan.

Het is namelijk niet een ideaal systeem voor een tijdelijke baan zoals in Melbourne. Andrew Westacott is CEO van de race en legt het uit bij Speedcafe.com: "Dit kan van toepassing zijn bij een permanent circuit ergens in Europa. Maar wij geloven dat continuïteit ,dat hoort bij het karakter van ons event, belangrijk is."

Dan waren er ook nog eens geruchten dat Sydney aast op het plekje van Melbourne. Westacott wil ook daar helemaal niets van weten. Hij is er heel duidelijk over: "Ik ben enorm vastbesloten dat wij de race elk jaar kunnen organiseren. Ik verwacht dan ook niet dat de race ergens anders heen gaat dan ons Albert Park."

het is ook niet mijn favoriete race, maar het volgde ieder jaar na een lange F1-loze winterstop, dus ja...
Vergelijk met een week lang niet kunnen eten, dan kunnen ze je een dampend bord andijvie voorschotelen, je vreet immers alles wat los en vast zit
