Porsche positief: "Veel dingen lijken de juiste richting op te bewegen"

Het begint er steeds meer op te lijken dat Audi en Porsche daadwerkelijk de Formule 1 gaan betreden. De twee Volkswagen-merken waren al aanwezig bij de overleggen over de nieuwe motorformule en dat zorgde natuurlijk voor veel speculaties. Nu laat een Porsche-kopstuk weten dat alles er goed uit ziet.

In 2026 gaat er een nieuw motorregelement gelden in de Formule 1. Het lijkt erop dat de huidige hybride V6 turbo zal blijven. Wel heeft het er alle schijn van dat de MGU-H zal verdwijnen en elektrische onderdelen een veel grotere rol gaan spelen.

Positief

Het klinkt als muziek in de oren voor Porsche. Porsche-bons Thomas Laudenbach is positief. In gesprek met Motorsport.com spreekt hij zich uit: "Veel dingen die wij belangrijk vinden in de Formule 1 lijken nu de juiste richting op te bewegen. Wij zien bijvoorbeeld graag dat meer onderdelen van de motor gestandaardiseerd worden en vooral dat er ontwikkelingsvrijheid blijft bij de elektrische componenten van de motor."

Besluit

De woorden van Laudenbach zijn louter positief maar een bevestiging van deelname aan de Formule 1 ontbreekt nog. Wel durft het Porsche-kopstuk te zeggen dat een beslissing niet lang meer op zich laat wachten. Laudenbach: "Het is duidelijk dat je niet te lang kunt wachten met een besluit. Als je in 2025/2026 wilt gaan racen dan moet je op een gegeven moment beginnen. Op dat punt zijn we nu ongeveer aanbeland."

Als ze instappen hoop ik wel dat ze dat met een eigen fabrieksteam doen, zodat er eindelijk eens wat meer dan 20 autootjs op de grid komen te staan.

Laten we hopen dat ze RB niet teveel in de weg gaan rijden want van duitse merken weten we inmiddels dat ze kwalitatief nog wel eens sterk kunnen zijn.

  Als ze zelfstandig gaan of met andere teams gaan ze RB net wel in de weg rijden.
  Er is tot nu toe nooit door hen beweerd dat ze willen samen werken met RB.
  Op heden hebben ze met alle teams gesproken.

Dat snap ik met het oog op eventuele mogelijkheden om die ontwikkelde eindproducten door 'te schuiven' naar de straatauto's. Wel vraag ik me af of het doorontwikkelen van elektrische componenten niet juist het duurste onderdeel vormt van de totale motor(door)ontwikkeling en dat dit niet alleen indruist tegen de wensen van F1 om de boel 'betaalbaar' te houden, maar dat dit de rijke fabrikanten juist in de kaart speelt en kleinere, minder kapitaalkrachtige (motor)fabrikanten gaat weerhouden om ook toe te treden tot de f1?

Het is vooral belachelijk dat de F1 er alles aan lijkt te doen om de boel te hervormen om deze twee fabrikanten (of eigenlijk één fabrikant) in de F1 in te krijgen. Want de merken zijn zo leuk. Ondertussen is de F1 minder F1 dan het ooit geweest is.

En dit terwijl het helemaal niet zeker is of ze überhaupt gaan komen.

Als je een half miljard!! moet inleggen om enigszins mee te kunnen doen, betwijfel ik het ten zeerste dat er nog ooit één team zal instappen. Volgens mij heeft Gene ook al dik spijt dat hij dit avontuur ooit begonnen is ... Maar wie ben ik? ...
