Hamilton mag sprintkwalificatie starten van stewards

De kogel is door de kerk: Lewis Hamilton is gediskwalificeerd. Hij is geschrapt uit de kwalificatie-uitslag maar mag van de FIA wel de sprint starten. De stewards hebben hier toestemming voor gegeven in een apart besluit. Hij zal dus een hele zware sprint voor zijn kiezen krijgen.

De stewards hebben besloten dat Hamilton de sprint 'gewoon' mag starten. De heren hebben namelijk vastgesteld dat Hamilton in de vrije trainingen tijden heeft genoteerd die snel genoeg waren. De vier stewards verwijzen hiervoor naar artikel 35.1 van de Formula One Sporting Regulations. 

Volgens de documenten van de FIA zal Hamilton de sprint starten vanaf de twintigste plek. Dat betekent dus dat de Brit gewoon plaatsneemt op de grid en niet vanuit de pitlane zal starten. Hij zal naast Nikita Mazepin starten en zal hard zijn best moeten doen om zich naar voren te vechten.

    Dus wat is de straf voor de race?

    Want hij heeft deelgenomen aan een sessie met een illegaal onderdeel en breekt parc ferme om terug te wisselen naar een legaal onderdeel.

    Normaal los je dit in met een grid penalty...

      Een straf (deels) herstellen is niet mogelijk in een normaal weekend. Waarom zou een incident dat normaal leidt tot een pitstraatstart tijdens de GP... nu ineens iets anders moeten zijn?

      ik heb wel vrede met een p20 voor de sprintrace.
      Zo'n korte race dan moet Lewis blij zijn als 'ie p6 of p8 haalt, en dan met 5 straf voor zondag...
      Ik zie Hamilton echt niet op het podium komen, ondanks al deze toestanden.

      RJH, deels met je eens, maar in de toekomst kan dit natuurlijk kromme gezichten geven.

      Dus zoals de FIA altijd roept... het gevolg van de straf zou niet uit moeten maken. Elk vergelijkbaar veroorzaakte incidenten zouden dezelfde straf moeten krijgen.

      Dat is nu dus "voor de gp" anders
