Video: Een digitaal rondje Jeddah

Over enkele weken is het zover: de eerste Grand Prix van Saoedi-Arabië. In Jeddah zijn de werkzaamheden nog steeds in volle gang en het is dan ook de vraag of alles op tijd af is. Zelf hebben de Saoedi's er alle vertrouwen in dat alles goed komt.

Ze hebben in ieder geval beelden gedeeld van een digitaal rondje Jeddah. De baan is vanaf nu namelijk te bespelen in de Formule 1-game. Gamers kunnen vast ervaring op doen vanachter hun spelcomputer voor dat de echte coureurs in het Sinterklaas-weekend zullen rijden op de baan.

Snelle, vloeiende bochten zijn leuk, maar dat betekent niet dat het hele circuit daar uit moet bestaan. Wat een inspiratieloos geheel.

      Alle races zijn vanaf nu Mercedes tracks. Voordeel de hoge snelheidsbochten zijn vaak in het voordeel van Mercedes. Ik denk dat Qatar gelijkwaardiger zal zijn, Mercedes nog wel wat sterker idem dito voor Abu Dhabi en Jeddah wordt een overtuigende race voor Mercedes.

      Wacht ik heb het filmpje gekeken, de bochten zijn eigenlijk gewoon versmallingen van een recht stuk, waardeloze kutbaan (naar aanleiding van het filmpje)

    Dat worden een aantal (V)SC's zo te zien. Weinig uitloop en weinig ruimte tussen baan en muren, zo lijkt het.

      Inderdaad je kan net zo goed rechtdoor rijden.....lijkt me een saaie race te gaan worden.

    Sector 1 lijkt nog wel aardig, maar na T13 lijkt het voornamelijk volgas…
    Al met al wen weinig uitdagende baan als ik het zo inschat

    Dit circuit zit inmiddels sinds een paar dagen in F1 2021 maar er is geen bal aan om het te rijden. Het is 2 keer volgas naar een hairpin met daartussen door een beetje geslinger. Als Mercedes zo'n motor houd als in Brazilie hoeft de rest niet eens af te reizen.

    Man man man, wat een waardeloze layout. 2 hairpins en de rest practisch vol gas.
    Het is wel duidelijk wie hier het meeste profijt van gaan hebben.
