Aston Martin trekt aerodynamisch kopstuk Mercedes aan

Een opvallende transfer in de Formule 1: de hoofd aerodynamica van Mercedes vertrekt namelijk naar het team van Aston Martin. Eric Blandin was jarenlang een belangrijke schakel op aerodynamisch gebied bij de kampioensformatie maar vertrekt nu naar de renstal van Lawrence Stroll.

Het is nog onduidelijk welke rol Blandin gaat spelen binnen het ambitieuze team van Aston Martin. Wat wel duidelijk is, is dat het nog wel eventjes duurt voordat het voormalig Mercedes kopstuk aan de slag gaat bij het team waar ze nu motoren aanleveren. 

Blandin heeft een verleden bij veel topteams in het huidige startveld. Hij was jarenlang actief bij het team van Jaguar en bleef werken bij het team toen het werd overgenomen door Red Bull. Bij de Oostenrijkse formatie groeide hij ook uit tot een grote jongen op het gebied van de aerodynamica. Daarna werkte hij nog een jaartje bij de legendarische renstal van Ferrari alvorens hij de stap naar Mercedes maakte in 2011.

    Volgens mij het nog steeds een kopie van startnummer 77.
    (Die van #44 is beduidend anders volgens de geruchten)

      Naar komend jaar toe valt er niks te kopieren, dus zullen ze bij AM noodgedwongen zelf iets aan het ontwerpen zijn. Ben benieuwd.

    Dit toont wederom aan dat Lawrence kosten nog moeite spaart om Lance kampioen te maken. Met deze manier van handelen is het alleen nog de vraag wanneer Lance kampioen gaat worden.

      @nico, een goede aandrijflijn is wel een voorwaarde. Nu is dat nog altijd Mercedes. Er komt meer bij kijken, in een Williams wordt je nu geen wereldkampioen.

      Klopt dat wou ik nog zeggen maar ik was het vergeten. Met Williams is mooi als punten haalt en geweldig als podium is maar kampioenschap winnen is moeilijk maar weet nooit wat de toekomst brengt alleen zal dat niet de komende jaren zijn, er mag wel eens wat verandering in komen dan altijd mb
