Eerste vrouwelijke Saoedische coureur ambassadeur voor Grand Prix

Aankomend weekend staat voor het eerst in de geschiedenis van de Formule 1 de Grand Prix van Saoedi-Arabië op de planning. Het land pakt groots uit en wil laten zien dat alles in het land heus wel in orde is. Ze hebben dan ook een zeer bijzondere ambassadeur aangesteld.

Vandaag is namelijk bekend geworden dat de eerste vrouwelijke coureur van het land zich ambassadeur van de Grand Prix mag noemen. Reema Juffali krijgt deze eer en zal zich veelvuldig laten gelden omtrent de race aan de kust van Jeddah. 

Williams

Ze zal één van de eersten zijn die een rondje mag draaien op het gloednieuwe circuit. Daarnaast krijgt ze ook nog de kans om met een Williams uit 1979 te rijden, het team werd toen der tijd gesponsord door de Saoedische luchtvaartmaatschappij.

Inspiratiebron

De Saoedische spreekt zich uit een statement. Ze is heel erg trots: "Ik kijk er heel erg naar uit om deel te nemen aan de activiteiten tijdens het weekend. Ik hoop dat mijn verhaal en reis als inspiratiebron kan dienen voor iedereen die nadenkt over het volgen van hun dromen."

      Jong mag je wel weg laten. Met 29 lentes mag zij zich niet echt meer talent of jong noemen. En het feit dat 90% van ons nog nooit van haar gehoord hebben, geeft ook wel aan dat dit een leuke wassen neus is om voor de bühne oh zo divers en geëmancipeerd over te komen.

    En dat in een land waar vrouwen pas vanaf 2017 een rijbewijs mogen halen.
    Het is een middeleeuwse cultuur met alleen maar oliedollars en wandelende tafelkleden, wat gaan we er in godsnaam (allahsnaam) doen !?

      Goed excuses voor de wandelende tafelkleden maar het is en blijft een land met een middeleeuwse cultuur en zeker wat betreft vrouwenrechten.
      En om dan nu de hele wereld te laten zien hoe vooruitstrevend ze zijn is er een vrouwelijke ambassadeur voor de grand prix.............wow.

      Er zal ook wel een vrouw meedoen aan de Dakar rally en waarschijnlijk wordt er in Qatar druk getraind wordt door een Qatariaans dames elftal.

      Maar goed zoals ik al eerder zei, de wereld kijkt even de andere kant op want ondanks het slavenleven dat honderduizenden Indiërs daar leven moet het feestelijk vertier voor de betere helft van de wereld bevolking wel gewoon doorgaan natuurlijk.
      Hamilton voorop met zijn regenboog helm, alles opgelost.

      Deze week Sinterklaas op het werk: links de roze dozen met poppen en boerderijen (zonder tractor!), modeontwerp setjes, rechts de dozen met monsterjams, RC audi's en bouwpakket met robot. We mogen niet eens kiezen! Maar nog steeds zonder het Saoedische beleid goed te keuren... Ik droeg mijn regenboogspeldje ook noet om het probleem op te lossen. Maar mijn baas weet wel hoe ik erover denk. Misschien draait hij ooit bij, als is het maar dat er keuze is.

    Ze weten je overal ter wereld te vinden, waardeloze lui, maar goed het is niet anders.

    Dit is nog maar het begin, ze kopen zich meer en meer in, in populaire sporten, de makkelijkste manier om aan de buitenwereld een rooskleuriger beeld op te roepen van het land, dat op veel andere terreinen dictatoriaal is.

      Ik ken een frisdrank dat via sportieve evenementen zichzelf promoot. De makkelijkste manier om aan de buitenwereld een rooskleurig beeld op te roepen van dat gesuikerde goedje. Zonder het Saoudische beleid te willen goedkeuren, natuurlijk.
