Speciaal eerbetoon voor Sir Frank Williams voorafgaand Saoedische Grand Prix

De Saoedische Grand Prix van vandaag is de eerste race sinds het overlijden van Sir Frank Williams vorige week. De legendarische teambaas krijgt een passend eerbetoon in Jeddah. De naam van de autosport-legende prijkt al op bijna elke auto, maar daar blijft het eerbetoon niet bij.

Na de drivers parade voor de race zullen de coureurs en alle andere betrokkenen namelijk een moment in acht nemen ter nagedachtenis aan de raceheld. Er zal een minuut stilte worden gehouden gevolgd door een applaus. Op dat moment zullen de schermen rond de baan een visueel eerbetoon geven aan de legendarische teambaas.

Daarnaast zal er nog een bijzonder moment plaatsvinden. Toevalligerwijs waren er dit weekend al enkele legendarische Williams-bolides aanwezig in Jeddah. Men heeft besloten om deze wagens een extra showrun te laten rijden voor de race. Sky Sports-analisten Damon Hill en Martin Brundle zullen achter het stuur kruipen en Sir Frank Williams een laatste eer bewijzen.
