Gasly toont zijn kwalificatie-talent weer eens: "Het was weer fantastisch vandaag"

De afgelopen paar kwalificaties verliepen perfect voor Pierre Gasly. De Franse AlphaTauri-coureur liet zich ook weer gelden in Jeddah en pakte een waanzinnig knappe zesde stek in de spannende kwalificatie. Vanzelfsprekend zorgt dat voor lachende gezichten bij Gasly zelf maar zekers te weten ook bij zijn team.

Gasly zelf kon zijn geluk maar weer eens niet op. Hij kijkt terug op de kwalificatie in de Saoedische schemer. In een persbericht van zijn team doet hij dat: "Het was weer fantastisch vandaag, opnieuw een top zes notering. Deze keer was het wat lastiger. Ik voelde mij niet geheel op mijn gemak in de auto en ik had moeite om de balans te vinden."

De Fransman moest echt werken voor zijn geld en deed dat op zeer volwassen wijze. Hij deelt zijn ervaring maar al te graag met de buitenwereld: "Ik moest echt hard werken terwijl we ons door de kwalificatie heen vochten. Maar ik kreeg het voor elkaar om het allemaal voor elkaar te krijgen en ik ben blij met mijn ronde."

Ene kant vind ik die spanning lekker, maar andere kant trek ik het ook slecht.

Maar ja, wat ik liever? Een dominant saai seizoen van Max of dit? Het laatste geeft meer voldoening, ondanks wk of niet.
