Di Resta leeft gespannen toe naar eerste thuisrace in Formule 1

Paul di Resta is officieel een Schot, maar komend weekend rijdt hij in Engeland een thuisrace. De Force India-coureur is namelijk tijdens de Grand Prix van Groot-Brittannië vooral een Brit. De schijnwerpers zullen meer op Lewis Hamilton en Jenson Button gericht zijn, maar ook voor Di Resta zullen de vele fans juichen.

Dit wordt een van de grootste dagen, een van de belangrijkste races uit mijn carrière, begint de Force India-rijder. Er is iets van extra druk, maar ik ga mezelf niet verder onder druk zetten. Ik benader elke Grand Prix hetzelfde en zet me overal honderd procent in. De Formule 1 halen en je eerste race rijden is al een grote gebeurtenis, maar je eerste thuisrace op een vernieuwd Silverstone doet daar niet voor onder. Ik heb nog nooit op Silverstone geracet. Ik heb vorig jaar wel een vrije training gereden en toen was de sfeer al overweldigend. Tijdens een out lap of installatieronde kan je zien wat er op de tribunes plaats vindt en het circuit is het hele weekend levendig. Silverstone is voor mij het thuis van de Formule 1.
