Räikkönen voorspelde afscheid voorafgaand het seizoen

Kimi Räikkönen reed vorig weekend in Abu Dhabi zijn laatste Grand Prix uit zijn lange en succesvolle Formule 1-loopbaan. De Finse wereldkampioen van 2007 leek toe te leven naar zijn afscheid. Halverwege het seizoen maakte hij bekend dat hij bezig was met zijn laatste jaar, zelf wist hij dit echter al wat langer.

De social media-afdeling van de Formule 1 had de coureurs voor het seizoen namelijk gevraagd om op een kaartje hun voorspellingen voor 2021 op te schrijven. Räikkönens voorspellingen zijn allemaal uitgekomen. Dit was echter geen daverende verrassing. De Fin had namelijk geen verrassingen verwacht, had Abu Dhabi als zijn favoriete race aangewezen ,mijn laatste race in de Formule1, en had als derde voorspelling 'good bye' opgeschreven.

Jammer dat ie de laatste race voortijdig moest stoppen en zijn afscheid ook een beetje werd overschaduwd door de perikelen na zijn uitvallen.
Blijft een held en we zien em vast nog wel terug in één of andere snelle auto.
