George Russell gaat dit jaar rijden voor het topteam van Mercedes. Hij verlaat zijn vrienden van Williams en wordt bij het Britse team opgevolgd door voormalig Red Bull-man Alexander Albon. Vlak voor zijn afscheid vond hij het een goed idee om Albon enkele welkomstcadeau's te geven.

Russell stond bekend als een ware PowerPoint expert. Het verhaal ging rond dat hij zijn stoeltje bij Williams heeft verdiend door een PowerPoint presentatie. Hij vindt het dan ook belangrijk dat zijn opvolger Albon goed leert omgaan met deze belangrijke tool.
