Capito ziet deal met Volkswagen wel zitten: "Voor elk team aantrekkelijk om met fabrieksmotoren te rijden"

De Formule 1 is de koningsklasse van de autosport. Vanzelfsprekend gaat men er vanuit dat de sterkste teams en grootste autobouwers hier de degens kruisen. Het begint er steeds meer op te lijken dat er een nieuwe grote autobouwer de Formule 1 gaat betreden. Het gonst immers al geruime tijd van de geruchten over een mogelijke komst van Volkswagen-merken Audi en Porsche.

Hoe de twee merken de sport gaan betreden is niet duidelijk. Ze kunnen immers met een eigen team aan de start verschijnen maar ze kunnen ook motoren gaan leveren. Wat wel duidelijk is, is dat áls ze instappen dat pas in 2026 gaat gebeuren. Dan gaan er immers nieuwe motorregels in. Vanzelfsprekend zijn er nu al geruchten over mogelijke samenwerkingsverbanden met huidige constructeurs.

Aantrekkelijk

Het team van Williams wordt bijvoorbeeld veelvuldig genoemd. Vreemd is dit niet, teambaas Jost Capito heeft een verleden bij het WRC-team van Volkswagen. Zelf zou hij wel openstaan voor een mogelijke motordeal. In gesprek met het Duitse Formel1.de is hij duidelijk: "Het is voor elk team aantrekkelijk om met fabrieksmotoren te rijden. Als de gelegenheid zich aandient om te praten, dan ga je vanzelfsprekend met elkaar in gesprek."

Officieel

Maar Capito zwakt zijn statement gelijk wel weer af. Volkswagen heeft immers nog niets bevestigd. De Williams-teambaas is duidelijk: "Ze hebben nog niets officieel bevestigd omtrent de Formule 1. Zolang ze bij Volkswagen nog geen beslissing hebben genomen heeft het naar mijn idee geen nut om in gesprek te gaan." Het lijkt erop dat er snel meer nieuws komt over een mogelijke komst van Volkswagen.

off topic, breaking volgens diverse media heeft ferrari voor volgend jaar een super lichte motor weten te bouwen met een performance boost van nabij de 60pk. de 30pk achterstand die ze nog op mercedes hebben is dan in 1 keer een voorsprong van 30 pk geworden als dat waar is.

  Het minimum gewicht van de motor is 150 KG inderdaad
  
  en daarnaast gaat het minimum gewicht van de totale auto ook omhoog dit jaar naar 795 KG, dat is 43 KG meer dan dit jaar

  30 pk voorsprong op een totaal van 1000 pk is 0,3 procent meer vermogen , voor teams als Red Bull en Mercedes zou dit eenvoudig te overbruggen zijn met aerodynamica mocht dit bericht kloppen .
