Nürburgring reageert op grote wens Domenicali: 'Er zijn dan wel economische randvoorwaarden"

Formule 1-CEO Stefano Domenicali deelde deze week zijn grootste wensen voor de kalender van de sport. De Italiaan gaf aan dat hij graag naar Afrika wilde en dat hij tevens graag weer een race in Duitsland op de kalender wil zien. Domenicali gaf zelfs aan zeer teleurgesteld te zijn over het ontbreken van een Duitse Grand Prix.

De laatste keer dat er een officiële Duitse Grand Prix op de kalender stond was in 2019. Max Verstappen won toen op een kletsnatte Hockenheimring. In 2020 werd er door de COVID-pandemie ook in Duitsland gereden. De heren coureurs werkte toen de Grand Prix van de Eifel af op de Nürburgring. Deze race was echter geen officiële Duitse Grand Prix.

Randvoorwaarden

Op de legendarische Nürburgring wil men heus wel een Duitse Grand Prix organiseren. Maar de financiële voorwaarden moeten dan wel in orde zijn. De communicatiechef van het circuit is er duidelijk over in gesprek met het Duitse RTL: "We kunnen ons de Formule 1 op de Nürburgring nog steeds heel erg goed voorstellen. Maar er zijn dan wel economische randvoorwaarden."

Zandvoort

De Duitsers zitten bijvoorbeeld niet te wachten op een vergelijkbaar model met Zandvoort. Bij de Nederlanders wordt de race georganiseerd door een commerciële partij. De communicatiechef ziet er geen heil in. Hij ziet een overduidelijk verschil met de Duitse situatie: "De Nederlanders zitten door Max Verstappen in een uitzonderlijke situatie. Het is ook nog eens niet onze taak om naar hun model te gaan kijken."

  Ik vermoed dat er bedoeld wordt dat het wel betaalbaar moet zijn.. Dat betekent dus geen verlies draaien door het verlagen van de 'fee' die betaalt moet worden aan de F1, of door dekking van de kosten door de overheid.. Dat zijn de enige 2 overgebleven mogelijkheden als ze niet met een commerciële partij in zee willen zoals op Zandvoort.. Zandvoort is daardoor wel zo'n beetje de enige GP ter wereld die zonder subsidies kan draaien.. Maar inderdaad wel geheel afhankelijk van het succes van Max Verstappen.. Zodra die wegvalt zie ik de F1 in Nederland ook weer verdwijnen.. Maar wel vreemd dat ze in Duitsland kennelijk niks zien in een commerciële aanpak.. De hele F1 is commercieel volgens mij..

  @inflatable: Is niet zo vreemd, in Duitsland was het enthousiasme al aan het dalen in de laatste jaren van SCH Sr., ook VET kreeg de Duitsers niet naar het circuit toe. Zo lang Duitsland geen nieuwe aansprekende topcoureur heeft zal de populariteit daar alleen maar afnemen.

Nürburgring is prima te bereiken vanuit Nederland, en is een fantastisch circuit. Kom er regelmatig en het is daar op en rond het circuit prima geregeld. Snap niet waar de angst van het circuit vandaan komt, ze krijgen gegarandeerd heel veel Max fans.

  Ze zitten daar gewoon met een berg schulden en krijgen geen voorschotten meer van de geld verstrekkers…. Ze hebben dus wat dat betreft nieuw bloed (geld) nodig maar willen geen commerciële verplichtingen omdat dit hun vrijheid van wandel en handel zal beperken….. raar maar waar

  Het circuit is de afgelopen jaren vanwege financiële problemen al heel wat keren van eigenaar veranderd.
  Het is volgens mij momenteel eerder een investerings dingetje dan een racebaan.
  Jammer, want ik kom er regelmatig en graag.
