Positieve Gasly wrijft in zijn handen: "Hopelijk een verrassing zoals die van Brawn GP"

De Formule 1-wereld kan aankomend seizoen zijn borst nat maken. Er gaan nieuwe regels gelden in de koningsklasse van de autosport dus dat betekent dat alles anders kan zijn. Mogelijk staan er nieuwe topteams op en vechten er straks verrassende namen om de wereldtitel.

In 2009 zat de sport in precies hetzelfde schuitje. Toentertijd had het nieuwe team van Brawn GP het regelboek goed doorgenomen en verbaasde ze vriend en vijand. Sommigen in de huidige Formule 1-wereld hopen stilletjes op hetzelfde scenario in het aankomende Formule 1-seizoen. De ambities zijn dan ook torenhoog bij veel teams en coureurs.

Naïef

Ook AlphaTauri-coureur Pierre Gasly heeft goede hoop. De hoop van de Fransman is echter niet bepaald stilletjes. Gasly durft zijn hoop hardop uit te spreken. In gesprek met Auto, Motor und Sport doet hij dat dan ook: "Ik heb er zin in omdat het een kans is. Het is een kans voor mij en het team. Maar tegelijkertijd zou het naïef zijn om te zeggen dat het alleen een kans is voor ons. Iedereen kan een grote stap voorwaarts zetten. Ik ben mij daar zeer bewust van. Ik weet dat alles kan gebeuren, zowel iets goeds als iets slechts."

Barcelona

Gasly kent zijn klassiekers en weet dat het bij Brawn GP op iets goeds uitliep. De Fransman hoopt vanzelfsprekend op zo'n scenario. Hij is nogal positief gestemd en dat deelt hij graag: "Wat ik tot nu toe van de auto heb gezien geeft mij echt een enorm positief gevoel. Ik kijk echt heel erg uit naar de eerste tests in Barcelona. Hopelijk hebben we een verrassing in petto zoals Brawn GP toen deed."

Alhoewel de kans klein is ivm steeds strikter wordende reglementen zouden de meeste F1 fans het denk ik wel prettig vinden om een andere dominante auto te zien dan een Mercedes of RedBull.
Ikzelf zou er geen moeite mee hebben als bijvoorbeeld Alpine de snelste auto heeft en Alonso kampioen wordt op 41 jarige leeftijd. Dromen mag 💥

  Ik ga in dat geval dan voor een niksnut als Mazepin.
  Gewoon omdat ie niks in de F1 te zoeken heeft en hier ook nooit wat in gaat bereiken.

Zou mooi zijn als we opeens een seizoen hebben waarbij Vettel en Alonso uiteindelijk om het wereldkampioenschap vechten. Dat net zo'n seizoen als dit jaar alleen dan met twee andere teams.

Positieve Gasly heeft last van vreemde bijwerkingen...

Een scheet hoeft maar ff anders te klinken en 2009 wordt er weer bijgehaald.
Van mij mag de hiërarchie ook gehusseld worden maar vermoed toch dat 2009 uitzonderlijk was.

Blijft afwachten natuurlijk...

  Die hiërarchie zie ik niet zo snel veranderen. Er is weliswaar een budget cap, maar faciliteiten en infrastructuur en aanwezige expertise van de teams bepalen natuurlijk ook al voor een groot gedeelte de slagvolgorde voor volgend jaar. Met de ontwikkelingssnelheid van tegenwoordig is ook een gouden vondst al snel achterhaald.
