Mike Krack nieuwe teambaas Aston Martin

Het team van Aston Martin heeft de zoektocht naar een nieuwe teambaas afgesloten. Slechts enkele weken na het vertrek van Otmar Szafnauer presteert het Britse team de nieuwe teambaas: Mike Krack. Hij zal het team gaan leiden onder de nieuwe regelementen die aankomende seizoen in gaan.

Krack was eerder werkzaam bij BMW. Bij het Duitse merk was hij de baas van de Global Motorsport Operation afdeling. Dat betekende dat hij verantwoordelijk was voor de Formule E, GT en ook de IMSA-programma's. Recent ging hij ook nog over de aankomende LMDH-bolide van het merk voor de races op Le Mans en Daytona. Krack was daarnaast ook betrokken bij het BMW-Sauber project.

In een persbericht van het team laat Krack weten in zijn sas te zijn met zijn nieuwe baan. Hij dankt zijn nieuwe bazen: "Het is een enorme eer dat ik ben aangewezen als teambaas van het Aston Martin Formule 1 team. Ik heb Lawrence Stroll en Martin Whitmarsh enorm dankbaar dat ze mij deze fantastische kans hebben gegeven."

    Mike wie? Ik heb zijn naam iig niet eerder langs zien komen in geruchten. Hij lijkt wel een redelijke staat van dienst te hebben, maar ik vraag me wel af uit welke hoge hoed ze hem hebben weten te toveren. Misschien is er een link tussen Aston Martin en BMW net zoals de link tussen Williams en VW?

      Nee, AM is zelfs voor een klein deel eigendom van zowel Mercedes als Toto Wolff en gebruikt Mercedes motoren voor een deel van hun modellen.

      Ik denk dat meneer Stroll naar Williams en McLaren heeft gekeken, daar hebben de Duitse teamchefs hun job ook goed gedaan en als ras kopieerder kon hij niet achterblijven ;-)
