Albon in de problemen op eerste Williams-werkdag: "Ben gelijk mijn autosleutels verloren"

Alexander Albon is begonnen aan zijn nieuwe klus in de Formule 1. De Britse Thai keert aankomend seizoen terug op de grid en heeft daarvoor de Red Bull familie moeten verlaten. Vanaf dit jaar is Albon Williams-coureur en zal hij bij zijn nieuwe werkgever op jacht gaan naar nieuwe successen.

Deze week kende Albon zijn eerste werkdag op het hoofdkantoor van Williams in het Britse Grove. Op de fabriek maakte de Thai kennis met zijn nieuwe collega's, paste hij zijn stoeltje en klom hij in de simulator van het team. De dag verliep voorspoedig totdat Albon in zijn broekzak voelde.

Sleutels

De coureur was zijn autosleutels kwijt en kon zo zijn eerste werkdag afsluiten met een fikse domper. Tegenover de internationale media kan hij echter hartelijk lachen om het moment: "Ik ben gelijk mijn autosleutels verloren op mijn eerste dag. Gelukkig hebben we ze wel teruggevonden."

Vuilnis

Albon maakte kennis met zijn nieuwe team en voelde zich meteen op zijn plaats. Gelukkig voor hem kreeg hij genoeg hulp bij de zoektocht naar de sleutelbos. "Ik dacht dat ik ze had laten liggen op het etens-karretje. Dus ik wilde maar in de vuilnisbakken gaan zoeken. Maar gelukkig lagen ze naast de bank in de simulatorkamer. Dat bespaarde mij van een duik in het vuilnis."
