Bezoekersaantallen Silverstone breken alle records

Het Grand Prix-weekend op Silverstone heeft deze week alle record gebroken. Nog nooit kwamen er zóveel mensen naar het circuit voor de Formule 1-race in Engeland.

Vrijdag werden er 88.000 mensen verwelkomt op het circuit, een toename van 3.000 mensen ten opzichte van vorig jaar. Zaterdag bezochten 105.000 Silverstone en vandaag kwamen er maar liefst 122.000 mensen naar het circuit om de race te bekijken. Een absoluut record.

"De Grand Prix van Engeland van dit jaar is één van de meest succesvolle uit de historie", vertelde Richard Phillips, de directeur van Silverstone. "De steun van de fans is geweldig en zij hebben dit tot één van de grootste evenementen ter wereld gemaakt."
