Domenicali droomt van Schumacher in een Ferrari: Mick doet zijn werk zeer goed"

Afgelopen seizoen maakte Mick Schumacher zijn debuut in de Formule 1. Hiermee trad hij in de roemruchte voetsporen van zijn vader, de legendarische Michael Schumacher. De verwachtingen waren dan ook hoog maar Mick kon niet veel uitvoeren met zijn langzame Haas. Toch maakte hij veel indruk.

De Schumacher-telg is naast Haas-coureur ook een Ferrari-junior. De Duitser treedt ook op dit gebied in de voetsporen van zijn vader. Michael Schumacher is immers voor eeuwig verbonden aan Ferrari, het team waar hij zijn grootste successen kende. Veel fans hopen dan ook dat ook Schumacher Junior op een dag één van de Ferrari-coureurs is.

Talent

Ook Formule 1-CEO Stefano Domenicali deelt deze droom. De Italiaan heeft ook een Ferrari verleden maar ziet Schumacher nu nog worstelen met de Haas. Tegenover Sport1 is Domenicali echter vol complimenten: "Mick doet zijn werk zeer goed. In 2021 had hij echter te maken met een auto waarin hij zijn kunnen niet kon laten zien. Ik hoop dat de nieuwe Haas heb de kans geeft om zijn talent te tonen."

Mooi vooruitzicht

Domenicali heeft in het verleden samengewerkt met Micks vader. Zijn Ferrari-hart gaat dan ook kloppen bij de gedachte aan Mick in een Ferrari: "Ik had het privilege om met Michael te werken bij Ferrari. Natuurlijk zou het een mooi vooruitzicht voor de toekomst zijn als Mick ooit bij Ferrari gaat rijden. Momenteel heeft Ferrari twee fantastische coureurs met Sainz en Leclerc, ze zijn allebei ook nog zeer jong. Maar wanneer Mick er klaar voor is en de kans krijgt, dan pakt hij die men beide handen aan."

heb mijn bedenkingen hierbij. Om te beginnen ben ik nog niet direct overtuigd van Mick zijn kwaliteiten. Ze hadden hem na 1 jaar doelloos en onzichtbaar rondrijden bij Haas daar weg moeten halen en elders onderdak geven, zodat we een beetje kunnen kijken wat die jongen in zijn mars heeft, en naas...     Tja dat Domenicali hem heel graag in de Ferrari ziet heeft meer te maken met het afnemen van interesse in de F1 in Duitsland als de persoon Mick Schumacher! koste wat kost zal hij straks in de Ferrari gaan plaatsnemen hier zijn ze met man en macht als sinds de f3 volop mee bezig

Ze hadden hem na 1 jaar doelloos en onzichtbaar rondrijden bij Haas daar weg moeten halen en elders onderdak geven, zodat we een beetje kunnen kijken wat die jongen in zijn mars heeft, en naast een fatsoenlijke rijder plaats laten nemen, eentje die tevens een goede graadmeter is. Dit lijkt op tijdverspilling.
    Schumacher bij Ferrari is vanuit nostalgisch oogpunt mooi, maar als hij het niet kan waarmaken in het rood dan is die eventueel toegenomen interesse bij onze oosterburen binnen no time weer verdwenen.
    Bovenal heeft Ferrari momenteel een duo in wie ik het volste vertrouwen heb

      als ze verkeerde beslissingen nemen dan kan er zomaar een nieuw Bruno Senna scenario ontstaan. Ook de naam Senna wilde men met alle geweld in de F1 hebben. Uiteindelijk kon die jongen de verwachtingen niet waarmaken en is met stille trom weer verdwenen uit de F1

      Ik ben ook niet overtuigd. Hij had moeten laten zien dat hij altijd beter is dan zijn teammaat en dat heeft hij niet gedaan.

      Ik ben er wel van overtuigd, namelijk dat deze jonge meer op Ralf lijkt dan op Michel qua pure race craft.

      Schumacher krijgt zijn zitje enkel vanwege zijn naam in de schoot geworpen zonder ooit iets noemenswaardigs gepresteerd te hebben terwijl b.v Piastri van de zijlijn mag toekijken.......belachelijk.

    Hij heeft het niet, dat staat toch als ene paal boven water, hij zal wel bij Ferrari komen, waste off time zou ik zo zeggen.

      Als ze Mick alleen willen voor de verkoop op te krikken, dat kan ook, voor de F1 gaat dat niets worden.

    Een Schumacher in een Ferrari is ook goed voor de verkoopcijfers van de straatauto’s in Duitsland. Alleen moet Mick zijn waarde nog bewijzen.
