Fittipaldi kijkt reikhalzend uit naar nieuwe regels: "Zullen voor veel verrassingen zorgen"

Aankomend seizoen gaan er compleet nieuwe reglementen gelden in de Formule 1. Het nieuwe regelboek kan zomaar zorgen voor een hele berg aan verrassingen. Niemand weet immers wie er aan kop zal rijden onder de nieuwe reglementen. Het blijft dan ook een grote puzzel waar veel mensen reikhalzend naar uitkijken.

Vorig seizoen werd de sport gedomineerd door Red Bull Racing en Mercedes. Deze twee teams vochten om de overwinningen en er werden slechts twee races gewonnen door coureurs van andere teams. Aankomend seizoen kan alles anders zijn, meerdere teams willen namelijk de aanval openen. Red Bull en Mercedes waren immers lang bezig met hun titelstrijd waardoor er minder aandacht uitging naar de ontwikkeling van de nieuwe auto.

Verrassingen

Ook tweevoudig wereldkampioen Emerson Fittipaldi verwacht een bijzonder seizoen. De Braziliaan is enthousiast en hij deelt dat maar wat graag met Motorsport.com: "Ik denk dat de nieuwe regels voor zeer veel verrassingen zullen zorgen. Het team dat de nieuwe regels als beste onder de knie heeft, heeft echt een voordeel. Tot aan de eerste kwalificatie van het seizoen weet je niets zeker. Bij de tests weet je niet of ze rijden met volle tanks, ook de baanomstandigheden zijn van invloed."

Ferrari

Fittipaldi denkt daarnaast dat Red Bull en Mercedes hun felle titelstrijd van vorig jaar gaan voelen in het aankomende seizoen. De twee titelstrijders legden immers alle aandacht bij hun kampioensgevecht. Hierdoor was de focus op wat er komen gaat verdwenen. De Braziliaan ,die ook twee keer de Indy 500 won, denkt dat teams die wél al zeer lang bezig zijn met 2022 in het voordeel zijn. "Vanaf de start kunnen die teams gelijk al wat sneller zijn. Ferrari werkt bijvoorbeeld al heel erg lang aan het nieuwe seizoen. Maar je weet het niet, er kunnen veel verrassende dingen gebeuren."

Het zou zelfs zeer welkom zijn dat de hoofdrolspelers van afgelopen seizoen eens flink om de oren gereden worden.😜
