Schumacher maakt zich niet druk over dubbelrol: "Als Ferrari mij nodig heeft sta ik er"

Mick Schumacher debuteerde afgelopen seizoen in de Formule 1 bij het team van Haas. De jonge Duitser kende een wisselvallig eerste jaar en kon in de rampzalige Haas niet al teveel potten breken. Hij scoorde dan ook geen enkel punt maar hij maakte wel genoeg indruk op zijn andere werkgever.

Schumacher is namelijk naast Haas-coureur ook onderdeel van het juniorenteam van Ferrari. Hij heeft een goede indruk achter gelaten op de Italiaanse renstal want hij zal aankomend seizoen ook enkele races optreden als reservecoureur voor de legendarische Italiaanse ploeg. Dat betekent dat de kans reëel is dat hij plaats mag nemen in één van de Ferrari's tijdens het aankomende seizoen.

Staan

Toch zal Schumacher zich voornamelijk richten op zijn taak als Haas-coureur. In gesprek met de Duitse tak van Sky Sports is hij er duidelijk over: "Het zou leuk zijn om op een dag in een Ferrari te zitten maar momenteel ligt mijn focus vooral op het team van Haas. Maar als Ferrari mij nodig heeft, dan zal ik er zeker staan."

Goede richting

De Duitser wil dan ook zo goed mogelijk voor de dag komen in zijn Haas. Hij heeft in ieder geval veel vertrouwen in zijn tweede jaar bij het Amerikaanse team: "Het is mijn doel om zo goed mogelijk voor de dag te komen met Haas. Wat er gebeurt in de toekomst zien we dan wel weer. Hopelijk kan ik mijzelf laten zien bij Haas. Als dat gebeurt dan beweegt het zich in de goede richting."

Man, man. Laat hij nou eerst maar eens zien dat ie behalve zijn naam ook vanwege zijn talent in de F1 bent. Vooralsnog zie ik er niet meer in dan een rijdende chicane, net als zijn echt 0,00% talent hebbende teamgenoot.

  @jd2000 dat vind ik erg makkelijk oordelen. Als een auto zo slecht is, dan ga je proberen om er meer uit te halen door extra risico's te nemen. Nee, ik vind niet dat we Mick op wat voor manier dan ook kunnen beoordelen.

Lastig voor mij als Schumacher(Sr.)-fan. Of eigenlijk heel simpel.
Eigenlijk vanaf begin en nog steeds ben ik een Schumacher-fan. IMO hij is de beste F1-coureur ooit. Heb net alle races vanaf begin 90' zitten kijken en inmiddels bij 2003 en zie nog steeds niemand die het kan evenaren. Sommigen komen in de buurt maar niet op gelijke niveau.

Met Mick is het anders.. Ik gun het Mick ook van harte en hoop dat hij (in tegenstelling tot zijn vader die gelijk heel snel was) een late bloeier is en we nog meer leuke acties van hem kunnen zien.
Echter, als ik het heel objectief bekijk en zijn achternaam even vergeet - dan is het helaas pijnlijk en duidelijk dat hij misschien een solide rijder kan worden maar top-talent is hij niet en zal waarschijnlijk nooit worden. Heel moeilijk voor mij(die met nostalgische gevoelens naar zijn achternaam kijkt) om dit te accepteren maar de waarheid is ook niet altijd leuk.

Leuke voor marketing en roem maar qua talent en total package zijn er veel anderen die beter zijn en het (meer) verdienen om in een Ferrari te rijden.
