Aston Martin verklaart nieuwe namen: "Moeten investeren in nieuwe middelen en mensen"

Afgelopen week presenteerde het team van Aston Martin hun nieuwe bolide voor het aankomende seizoen. Het is overduidelijk dat de Britse renstal in Canadese handen barst van de ambities. Alles wijst er dan ook op dat ze snel de sprong naar de top van het veld willen wagen, dat steken ze niet onder stoelen of banken.

Vorig seizoen werd al duidelijk dat men opzoek was naar de juiste mensen voor de hoge ambities. De renstal van Lawrence Stroll nam meerdere werknemers over van de topteams. Eric Blandin werd overgenomen van Mercedes en Dan Fallows werd overgenomen van Red Bull. Ook Martin Whitmarsh ging aan de slag bij het team. Daarnaast werd Mike Krack aangesteld als nieuwe teambaas.

Juiste structuur

Andrew Green bleef werken bij Aston Martin en hij treft daar elke dag nieuwe gezichten aan. Het technische kopstuk benadrukt tegenover Motorsport.com nog maar eens het belang van de nieuwe werknemers: "We hebben het al eerder gezegd maar het is ons plan om binnen vijf jaar mee te vechten om het kampioenschap. Als je dan kijkt naar de juiste structuur, dan is het duidelijk dat je in nieuwe middelen en mensen moet investeren. Daarom zijn we gaan versterken."

Krack

Green zal aankomend seizoen ook te maken krijgen met de nieuwe teambaas Mike Krack. Opvallend genoeg was Krack afgelopen week niet aanwezig bij de onthulling van de nieuwe wagen. Green verklaart: "Mike is nog niet begonnen dus ik kan lastig iets over hem zeggen. Mike heeft in ieder geval een achtergrond in de autosport. Ik heb hem een aantal keer ontmoet en hij is echt super aardig."

Ik heb het idee dat het team de tegengestelde filosofie heeft van die het had. Met een klein budget, hard werken en slimme mensen wist Force India een aantal prachtige resultaten te boeken.
De 4e plaatsen voor een team dat het water tot de lippen had staan vond ik heel erg knap.

Ik hoop dat ze boel eindelijk eens goed georganiseerd gaan krijgen om een volwaardige F1 auto in het veld te brengen. tot op heden heb ik het idee dat eenieder die daar komt te werken er enkel en alleen voor het geld zit. En geen passie voor het merk AM.

  Eindelijk? ze zijn pas bezig sinds 2020 .. dit vergt tijd ik zie ze in 2023 wel een stap voorwaarts zetten mss zelf dit jaar al.

  Sinds paps Stroll daar de scepter zwaait zijn er toch behoorlijk wat wijzigingen. Een bestaand team ombouwen naar een tooteam vraagt niet alleen centen maar nog meer talent en ervaring. De juiste mensen worden aangehaald en heus niet enkel voor de centen, ook de infrastructuur krijgt een hele ommezwaai. Vooraleer alles functioneert zoals dat hoort, dat vraagt tijd.

  Ja dat zat idd wat in hun DNA dat was in de Jordan tijden niet anders, het was zelf opvallend dat toen B&H als sponsor voor de nodige extra's zorgde het er niet volledig uitkwam.

  Ja Force India, daar heeft letterlijk heel india de prijs voor betaald. Die dachten er ook met Flink wat geld te komen. Alleen bleek dat geld niet van hun te zijn.
