De aanhoudende geruchten dat reserverijder Karun Chandhok voor de Grand Prix van India, zijn thuisrace, eenmalig promoveert naar een racestoeltje berusten niet op waarheid. Zijn werkgever Team Lotus tornt niet aan de line-up die het nu heeft.

Een woordvoerder van de Maleisische renstal verzuchtte tegenover F1Today.nl: Waar zou deze sport zijn zonder speculatie... We hebben geen plannen om onze line-up te wijzigen voor de Grand Prix van India of welke race dan ook.
