Wat doet het weer in Jeddah?

Dit weekend staat de Grand Prix van Saoedi-Arabië op het programma. Morgen draaien de heren coureurs voor het eerst het Jeddah Corniche Circuit op voor de eerste twee vrije trainingen. Ook dit weekend rijden ze weer onder het kunstlicht, het is de tweede avondrace op rij op de kalender.

Liefhebbers van regenraces komen ook dit weekend weer bedrogen uit. Het regent vrijwel nooit in het reusachtige land in het Midden-Oosten en ook dit weekend is dat niet het geval. Wel moet men in Jeddah weer redelijk wat rekening houden met de wind. De stad, en het circuit, liggen immers aan de Rode Zee dus er waait een stevige zeewind. Op vrijdag zal het, het stevigst waaien.\

De temperatuur ligt in Jeddah op vrijdag en zaterdag rond de 27 graden Celsius. Het is die dagen ook redelijk bewolkt maar de wolkjes trekken weg op zondag. Op raceday is het ruim boven de 30 graden en is het dus de warmste dag van het weekend. Op zondag is er zelfs een kleine kans op een zandstorm, dat betekent dat de heren coureurs serieus rekening moeten houden met slecht zicht en veel zand op de baan.

      @TheReds woont waarschijnlijk in de grote stad?
      Sommige stadsjongens beseffen niet eens meer dat het s'avonds donker wordt omdat dan vanzelf het licht aan gaat.
