Williams vangt Duitse Grand Prix aan met nieuwe vleugels

Het team van Williams heeft enkele nieuwe onderdelen voor de Grand Prix van Duitsland op de Nürburgring in een poging om de mislukte eerste seizoenshelft achter zich te laten. In de eerste negen races van 2011 scoorde de Britse renstal slechts twee maal punten.

Op Silverstone had het team kans op meer, met een zevende startpositie voor Pastor Maldonado. De Venezolaan zakte in de race echter terug naar de veertiende plek, vlak achter teamgenoot Rubens Barrichello, die verantwoordelijk is voor alle vier de punten van Williams tot nu toe.

Om het tij te keren introduceert het team in Duitsland wat nieuwe updates. Technisch directeur Sam Michael zet uiteen: We hebben een nieuwe achtervleugel, een nieuwe voorvleugel en herziene engine maps voor de off-throttle blown diffuser die nu weer is toegestaan.
