Mercedes kan wel lachen om tweede plaats in constructeurskampioenschap

Regerend constructeurskampioen Mercedes is niet bepaald sterk begonnen aan het nieuwe seizoen. De Duitse ploeg komt duidelijk snelheid tekort en moet Ferrari en Red Bull Racing veelvuldig voor zich dulden. Toch staan de zilverpijlen op de tweede in het constructeurskampioenschap. Concurrent Red Bull heeft immers al enkele uitvalbeurten gehad.

Bij Mercedes kunnen ze ergens wel lachen om deze bijzondere situatie. Het social media-team vindt het in ieder geval wel grappig genoeg om er op de sociale kanalen een meme over te delen. De fans kunnen er in ieder geval wel om lachen, zo blijkt uit de reacties onder de post.

Haha, deze is wel leuk! En ook zeer toepasselijk: waar anderen veel stampij maken, focussen Ferrari en Mercedes zich enkel op zichzelf. En dat is een strategie die zichzelf (op termijn) uitbetaalt - dat gezegd hebbende: om je heen schoppen a la Red Bull kan ook erg vruchtbaar zijn.

    Als je zoveel langzamer bent en toch in beide kampioenschappen tweede staat, dan mag je inderdaad in je handen wrijven.
    Geholpen door de uitvalbeurten bij RB, dat wel. Dat zit dan verschrikkelijk mee voor Mercedes, maar ze hebben het ook enigszins zelf afgedwongen door een betrouwbare auto over de finish te brengen en toe te slaan, als de mogelijkheid daar was.

    Marko rept over een alarmerend gat met Ferrari, maar volgens mij heeft hij het dan over Ferrari-Mercedes. Want hun snelheid is zorgwekkend. Updates liggen volgens Hamilton niet in het verschiet en er gaan veel geluiden op, dat ze niet goed weten waar ze de snelheid zoeken moeten.

    Ze moeten heel snel met verbetering komen, want die P2 in beide kampioenschappen kan wel eens van hele korte duur zijn en ik zie ze eigenlijk ook niet meer hoger eindigen dan P3 dit jaar, tenzij er hele gekke dingen gebeuren.

      Weet je wat het voordeel is van een slecht jaar en niet 2e te worden in kampioenschap. Dat is dat je het jaar erop extra windtunnel tijd krijgt. waardoor je dus meer kan doen.

      wat je dus nu doet is geen updates maken voor dit jaar maar je focus verleggen naar volgend jaar. Dan kan je het jaar erop als je in de basis een goede auto hebt en doormiddel van de extra windtunnel tijd een wagen beter ontwikkelen.

      Eigenlijk hetgeen dat Ferrari dit jaar doet en vorig jaar mee is begonnen.

      Verschil tussen 2e plek en 3e plek is 5 procentpunt windtunnel tijd. Nu is iedere marge er één, maar om op basis daarvan te stellen dit jaar helemaal geen update meer te maken lijkt me nogal een vreemde tactiek. Ook omdat de regels hetzelfde zijn, dus alles wat je nu update en test kun je volgend jaar op voortborduren.

      Tenzij je nu tot de conclusie komt dat je wagen qua concept zo de plank heeft mis geslagen. Het beter is ondanks dat je nu 2e staat om helemaal opnieuw te beginnen met de wagen dan voort te werken op een verkeerd concept.

      Huh? Je verandert je punt 180 graden. Je stelde dat 'als je in de basis een goede auto hebt'. Als je helemaal opnieuw moet beginnen zou ik dat inderdaad ook direct al doen. Echter dat staat natuurlijk volledig los van de windtunnel verder.

      ik zal die situatie even uitleggen:
      die rooie gaat eerst even de ene hardhandig tegen de grond werken en vervolgens verdwijnt het gezicht van die nietsvermoedende man op de voorgrond net zo lang in die voerbak totdat hij pure bami ademt
