Nürburgring vestigt hoop op oude Hockenheimring-onderhandelaar

De Grand Prix-toekomst van de Nürburgring is twijfelachtig nu de staat de financiële steun na dit seizoen intrekt. Alles hangt af van een nieuw contract en de eisen die Bernie Ecclestone daaraan stelt, en het Duitse circuit heeft een ervaren onderhandelaar aangetrokken om dat in goede banen te leiden.

Karl-Josef Schmidt heeft zich bij het managementteam van de Nürburgring gevoegd. Schmidt onderhandelde eerder namens de Hockenheimring over gunstigere voorwaarden, met succes. Deze Grand Prix is de laatste onder het huidige contract voor de Nürburgring. We zijn in onderhandeling en het ziet er positief uit, aldus Schmidt in Bild.
