Vandaag beleeft het nieuwe circuit in Miami zijn vuurdoop tijdens de eerste vrije trainingen. De baan is voor veel coureurs nog een enorm mysterie. De coureurs hebben wel de baan uitgeprobeerd op de simulator maar dat komt natuurlijk niet helemaal in de buurt van het echte werk.

Ook voor de fans is het circuit een grote onbekende. De Formule 1 is zich daarvan bewust en deelt dan ook de eerste beelden van een onboard-rondje over het circuit. Deze beelden zijn echter wel digitaal, het is namelijk een rondje in de gloednieuwe Formule 1-game die later dit jaar uitkomt.

    Voor de Amerikanen is dit circuit compleet nieuw. Zij kennen alleen hun bestaande circuits en dan ligt er opeens zoiets als dit in Miami.
    Nu nog een geweldige race en het grote geld gaat met bakken tegelijk de F1 in stromen. Ook wel eens mooi na we ook jaren hebben gekend waarin de F1 een langzame dood leek te sterven. Dat vooruitzicht hebben we inmiddels ver achter ons gelaten.

      Rijdt een 7-voudig WK die beter en agressiever dan ooit is vierkant naar huis. Dan ben je toch een legend.

      @ Rimmer, helemaal eens maar het gaat hier om legendarisch, dat is iets wat je bij blijft bij iemand die iets bijzonders heeft gepresteerd heeft zoals races heeft gewonnen en kampioenschappen heeft gewonnen.
      Verstappen had hier op deze plaats moeten staan en dat is wat ik hier probeer te schrijven, helaas heb ik verzuimd dit hier te vermelden mijn excuses.

    Gaaf circuit met hoge snelheden en langzame secties. Wordt een interessante set-up van veel mechanische grip in de langzame sectoren en weinig downforce in de snelle sectoren. Wie gaat waar het verschil maken?
    In Jeddah zag je dat Ferrari in de bochtige eerste sector erg snel was, waar Red Bull dat weer compenseerde in de snelle sector 2.
    Leuk, zo'n nieuw circuit.

    Op het eerste oog ziet het er naar uit dat er goed ingehaald kan worden. Ook zitten er flink wat heftige regenbuien aan te komen waardoor het rubber weer aardig van de baan spoelt na de sessies, dus de baan zal aardig groen blijven wat ook wel interessant is. Ik zie liever de traditionele banen behouden worden maar deze baan kan best eens een hele mooie race gaan leveren.
