Alpine staat wel achter mogelijke komst Andretti

Momenteel zijn er tien teams actief in de Formule 1. Het is algemeen bekend dat er een elfde kaper op de kust ligt, Michael Andretti wil immers zeer graag de sport betreden met zijn eigen team. De Amerikaanse telg van de bekende racefamilie geeft aan zijn zaakjes op orde te hebben.

De meeste huidige teams zijn echter niet zo enthousiast over de mogelijke komst van Andretti. Men vreest dat ze hierdoor aardig wat centjes kunnen mislopen, ze zijn namelijk bang dat ze minder geld gaan ontvangen omdat dit evenredig over de renstallen wordt verdeeld. Toch is er ook wel steun voor een mogelijke intrede van het team van Andretti.

Bij het team van Alpine zien ze de mogelijke komst van de Amerikaanse renstal namelijk wel zitten. Andretti en Renault hebben namelijk een dealtje gesloten over met mogelijk leveren van power units. Alpine CEO Laurent Rossi spreekt zich uit tegenover de internationale media: "Ik ben er een voorstander van. Dit gaat samen met de groei in de Verenigde Staten. Ik denk dat het kan bijdragen aan de show en dat genereert aandacht in de VS. Daardoor krijgen we meer omzet."

    Ja, natuurlijk ziet Renault dit wel zitten als zij de motorleverancier voor Andretti gaan worden.
    Die zien de dollartekentjes en de extra data over de motor graag binnen komen.

      10 is wel echt een soort grenslijn van acceptabel inderdaad. 18 autos begint al aardig leeg te lijken. 2015 Melbourne met maar 15 autos op de grid was helemaal niks...

      Liever 11 of meer, zodat in een situatie als Miami, de grid vol lijkt (AM starte uit de pits met beide wagens)

    Ik kan het niet uitstaan dat een team zoals nu Mercedes hier een soort veto over kan uitspreken. Ze mogen er alles van vinden maar niks bepalen. We zitten aan de ondergrens. Ieder team met n goed plan dat in wil stappen moet maximaal gesteund worden en aangemoedigd om het daadwerkelijk te doen.
    En natuurlijk, sommigen fronsten bij STEFAN GP jaren terug. Maar ANDRETTI? -kom op man. Leg meteen die rode loper uit en zet de Mountain Dew klaar!

      Helemaal met je eens maar met het huidige Concorde Agreement, hebben de teams inspraak en wordt het een lastig verhaal.

    Ik begrijp dat Alpine een extra motief heeft maar zij zitten wel in het middenveld waar Andretti, zeker in het begin, ook zal zitten.
    Ik denk dat het valide is dat als de F1 groter wordt in Amerika de prijsgelden zelfs omhoog zouden kunnen gaan.

    On topic; Teams zouden 0,0 invloed moeten hebben op toetreden van nieuwe teams. Schandalig dat teams dit kunnen. Dat moet veranderen in de toekomst. Ik will weer terug naar 26 wagens op de grid, niet de standaard 20.
