Sainz weet wat hij moet aanpassen: "Dat verdient ook privacy"

Het team van Ferrari is momenteel bezig met een zeer goed seizoen. De legendarische Italiaanse renstal heeft in de eerste races van het huidige seizoen de weg omhoog ingezet nadat ze tijdens de afgelopen jaren veel tegenslag kenden. Tot nu toe moet men vooral vertrouwen op Charles Leclerc voor de goede resultaten.

De Monegaskische coureur wist dit seizoen tot nu toe twee races te winnen, in Bahrein en Australië. Teamgenoot Carlos Sainz heeft vooralsnog nog de nodige tegenslagen. De Spanjaard worstelt nog met de nieuwe bolide en viel al tweemaal uit na ongelukkige spins. Ook in Spanje belandde hij in de grindbak waardoor hij zich naar voren moest rijden.

Privacy

Sainz zelf wil ook beter voor de dag komen tijdens het huidige seizoen. De Spaanse Ferrari-coureur weet vanzelfsprekend wat er moet gebeuren. Tegenover Motorsport.com legt hij uit waar hij vooralsnog mee worstelde: "Dat is echt heel erg specifiek, er zijn zeer veel details. Ik denk dat het teveel is om in woorden te omschrijven want ik denk dat het tevens wat privacy verdient. Er zitten vertrouwelijke dingen tussen mij en het team tussen."

Overstuur

De Spaanse coureur kwam vorig seizoen in zijn eerst seizoen voor Ferrari veel overtuigender voor de dag. De huidige generatie auto's zijn nog niet naar zijn wens: "Ik denk dat je overal kunt zien dat ik er nog niet ben met de auto in vergelijking met vorig seizoen. Als je het mij vraagt heeft de auto iets teveel overstuur. Je kunt jezelf aanpassen of je kunt de auto's iets meer naar je zin maken. Dat kost tijd, kennis en ook ervaring. Daar zijn fouten voor nodig, dat gaat met vallen en opstaan. Ik ben daar nu mee bezig."

Klinkt als een sainz familie dingetje. Daar hebben we al sinds toro rosso bij debuut al van alles over gehoord. Papa sainz is veel achter de schermen bezig. Denk dat dat wel eens wat irritatie kan opleveren binnen een team.

  O'T'ik vond het wel een grappig voorval afgelopen zaterdag. Sainz sr mocht het Pirelli bandje overhandigen aan polezitter Leclerc. Normaal tekent de polesitter het bandje maar dit keer tekende Sainz sr het bandje voordat hij het aan Charles overhandigde.

Sainz denk te veel en moet gewoon gas geven, trouwens dat de auto te veel overstuur heeft, hetzelfde probleem hadden de 2e coureurs bij RBR toendertijd.

Excuus zonder excuus.
Een top rijder kan met elke auto hard gaan.

Privé issues is erg, maar als hij ze niet benoemt moet hij het ook niet als excuus gebruiken.wel sterkte er mee. Hoop niet dat er een zieke in de familie is.
