Hamilton klaar met sieradenvragen: "Teveel tijd aan gegeven"

Tijdens de eerste paar races van het huidige seizoen was een bijzonder onderwerp gespreksstof. Er was namelijk veel te doen over de aangescherpte regels omtrent sieraden en ondergoed. De nieuwe wedstrijdleiders willen er strenger op controleren en de heren coureurs zijn er niet bepaald over te spreken.

Maar gisteren werd duidelijk dat de regels voorlopig nog even worden uitgesteld. Autosportfederatie FIA heeft namelijk besloten dat de medische commissie zich eerst maar eens moet buigen over de zaak. Dat komt goed uit voor zevenvoudig wereldkampioen Lewis Hamilton, de Brit moest eigenlijk dit weekend al zijn sieraden uitdoen maar daar krijgt hij dus wederom uitstel voor.

Tijdens de gebruikelijke persconferentie van vrijdagochtend werd Hamilton er vanzelfsprekend naar gevraagd. Tegenover de internationale media was de Brit nogal fel: "Eerlijk gezegd vind ik dat we hier teveel tijd aan geven. Ik heb alles al gezegd waarvan ik denk dat ik het moest zeggen. Daarom ligt mijn focus dit weekend dan ook op Monaco. Ik deed mijn oorbellen altijd al uit en dat blijf ik doen. De neusring is momenteel geen probleem."

    Wat zou het zwaarste wegen in deze discussie waar men klaarblijkelijk wel blaft maar niet bijt.
    De sieradenlobby, sponsoren en de ego's, de reglementen en het proberen zoveel mogelijk veiligheid te garanderen of de publieke opinie?

      Leg de sieraden van Lewis een keer op de weegschaal, dan weet je in ieder geval hoeveel dat weegt en dan is het natuurlijk de vraag of die andere punten die je aanhaalt zwaarder of lichter wegen ;)

    Als ik zijn uitspraak zo lees is het allemaal geen probleem. Waarom dan weer een uitstel?
    Met het gestuiter dat er gister was kan hij zich beter focussen op het binnenhouden van zijn lunch.
