Gridstraf lonkt voor Sainz na reprimande in training

Carlos Sainz crashte gisteren vrij fors in de slotfase van de kwalificatie. De Spaanse Ferrari-coureur zag de gele vlaggen te laat waardoor hij tegen de gecrashte Sergio Perez crashte. Het leverde de nodige schade op maar de Spanjaard kwam eerder op de dag ook al tweemaal zeer goed weg.

In de derde vrije training aan het begin van de zaterdagmiddag ging het namelijk meermaals bijna mis. Na afloop van de kwalificatie mocht Sainz de stewards uitleg geven over twee situaties met Lance Stroll en Sebastian Vettel. Tweemaal hinderde hij de andere coureurs en in het geval van Vettel resulteerde dat bijna in een harde crash.

De stewards kwamen erachter dat Ferrari de Spaanse coureur tweemaal van verkeerde informatie over het gat met achterop komende auto's had voorzien. Sainz vertrouwde volgens de stewards volledig op zijn team en Ferrari kreeg dan ook een boete van 25.000 euro. Ook Sainz zelf werd op zijn vingers getikt omdat hij bijna stil stond bij deze acties. Hierdoor ontving hij een reprimande. Het is de derde keer dat hij dit seizoen een reprimande kreeg en de tweede keer dat hij een 'driving-reprimande' kreeg, dat betekent dat een gridstraf op de loer ligt.

Dat zou een beetje mosterd na de maaltijd zijn.
Ruim te laat nu we alweer enkele sessies verder zijn.
Er gaat dus niets gebeuren.
En ALS er al iets zou gebruren qua straffen, dan zou het het crashen onder geel moeten zijn.
(Maar dat lijkt me ook onwaarschijnlijk)
Dus....nee.

Als ik mij niet vergis krijgen ze pas bij 5 reprimandes een gridstraf.

  De straf ligt van heel ver op de loer. De straf ziet Sainz niet en Sainz ziet de straf niet maar toch.
  Overigens ligt een straf ook bij Piastri op de loer.
  Nog iets verder weg weliswaar maar hij ligt er. Nog 5 keer de fout in en hij is de klos en dat zonder een meter F1 ervaring!

Hij kon hier in alle gevallen niets aan doen. Sterker nog, hij heeft na verkeerde informatie dus nog goed in zijn spiegels gekeken en erger kunnen voorkomen. Ook bij de crash was zijn reactievermogen goed. Die boete slaat al helemaal nergens op, die moet veel hoger zodat het gevoeld word.

  Wat mij betreft mogen alle team boetes flink omhoog. Zoiets als 500.000 of 1.000.000. En die hoeven ze wat mij betreft niet te betalen. Die moeten van hun budget af gaan.

Bij Sainz is uit voorzorg de bak gewisseld zo heeft Ferrari net bekend gemaakt, ik denk dat RB dit bij Perez ook gaat doen.
